Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is anyone currently attending the Bachelor of Arts Photography Program at DIT?
Or perhaps had attended it in the past?
Or know of someone that had, is ..or planning to?
Or perhaps even have an opinion on DIT and/or Photography Programs in general?

I am currently in process of building a portfolio.
I have some photos here: http://alexandrosart.blogspot.com/
But I just deleted my flickr account and slowly migrating everything over to pix.ie

I have been doing research on DIT for about 3 months now, but their website is a bit vague in regards to the photography program - http://www.dit.ie/media/documents/study/undergraduate/undergraduatecourses/dt559.pdf
    - and I was hoping to speak with someone that could give me more of a “real-life” opinion on the school itself and photography programs in general.

I won’t be attending school until the fall of 2010 as I currently reside in Seattle.
Now I am just trying to gather as much information as possible in order to be better prepared when I arrive.

I have a couple of friends in Dublin but they have no association to photography and are too busy to run around doing research for me.

Just looked through the Griffith College website. It looks very nice! How did you choose to attend that school?

I was looking for general info; such as:
    Do the teachers seem knowledgeable?
Are the facilities adequate for the course?
How is the workload? (would someone be able to work a full time job & attend school at the same time?)
It would also be nice to find out what some of the programs graduates ended up doing.
Does anyone find a career in photography that is a little more rewarding than taking photos of peoples babies or pets in some department store?
    Those kinds of things.

very much so, all professional photographers, excellent knowledge and very relaxed atmosphere

Are the facilities adequate for the course?
excellent, darkroomm for bout 20 people, 3 studios and a mountain of gear to borrow

How is the workload? (would someone be able to work a full time job & attend school at the same time?)
workload is quite alot near end of terms, not much otherwise
