I guess it'to be expected. Those who get good results will be more likely to want to post them online. It's not really a fair cross section. Due to that, I'd like to remind people of the point of this thread. This isn't about how well you did. It's how well you did in comparison to x-mas AND your hopes for June. Just remember to include those too.

Full marks in Trig?! You don't really need probability at all if you can do that.

I LOVE Trig. It just all makes so much sense to me.
Probability, on the other hand... *shudders*
And the option question. Eugh, further calculus (Well, just the Maclaurian series bit. Yock)

Oh my God, thay are SO slow getting our results back. We finished ours on February 13th (12th for me) and we STILL have nothing back. In any subject.

Well, here's what I'm predicting (not hoping) to get:

English (H): B1 - I think it went really well
Irish (H): C2 - Went OK, could be better
Maths (H): - D3 - Was an absolute disaster; will be happy with a pass in the Mocks
    French (H): C1 - Went fairly well, I think
    Geography (H): B2 - Went well
Art (H): B3 - Strong at history, practical will bring the marks down
DCG (O): A2 - Am doing Higher for the real thing, so hoping I aced Ordinary

I'm the other way around. I hate trigonometry, and I sometimes do extra probability questions for fun when I'm bored (not joking).

SNAP! Maths exam questions when bored ftw.
I tend to always do Questions 1+2 on paper 1 for funsies! And Trig.
Why? Because that sense of satisfaction when you get the questions perfect is unbeatable.
Screw socialising or having a life, all i need is me and my maths.

Only two results back so far:
English: C2, 62%. Was actually shocked at this. Examiner was horrible,
Business: 50% I think. Shocked at this too.

I'm really pissed off with myself that I did so bad. Serious work is to be done.

    Still waiting on:
Biology: I think I failed. Here I am hoping for an A1 in June
History: Only exam I think I did well in. However, seeing as my other exams were horrible, maybe B2/B3 if I am lucky.
    Maths: B or a C, I'd say.
Art: Could go either way. I need to learn how to sew so I can make a puppet.

I was hoping for around 440 in pres and around 480~ in real thing. Looks like it won't happen at this stage.

I bought some A4 pads, revision books and study stuff so tomorrow I start studying hard. ... (yeah, right.)

French (H) - F (got 43% in written + aural but my oral brought it way down)
Chemistry (H) - 47 (horribly dissapointed with this, didnt answer the questions properly)
Geography (H) - 68 (accidentally drew my sketch map on OS map instead of the aerial photo, so 0/30 on that :( didnt really do the option question eighter)

Only got around 250 points overall.:o

    (Ord) Maths D1 52%
    (Higher) English C2 60%
    (Ord) Irish D1 50%

    (Higher) English C1
    (Ord) Irish D1
    (Ord) French B1
    (Higher) Geog C1
    (Higher) Business C1
(Higher) Physics C3 or possibly (Ord) Physics B1

Due to poor marking on my chemistry, I went up to an A1, and physics I went up to an A2, yay!

    Also 61% in pass Irish!

  • Registered Users Posts: 140 ✭✭MeetReality

Just had my mock French(HL) oral on Monday goT 75% so hopefully with a bit more practice will bring me up 10%. The mock oral really showed me how they can put you on the spot when you bring something up.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 99 ✭✭-ME-

I got 93% in my mock German oral, up from 71% at Christmas so very happy with that, hopefully i'll maintain that grade for the LC. I got 87% in my French oral, down from 90% at Christmas, hoping to get an A1 in the real one. I've only gotten the Art History paper back so far, I got 77% so I'm fairly disappointed, a good few people in my class got A's. I only wrote about 2 pages for each artist so I'll try and write 3- 4 in the real thing which should hopefully bring my grade up. I'm usually one of the best students in Art History so this result threw me off a bit. Ah well, I'll have to learn, move on etc.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

I got 82% in my French oral which brings down my grade to an A2, and 87% in my German oral which brings my grade up to a B1. When looking through my biology exam with the marking scheme our class spotted a load of mistakes the corrctor had made so loads of people got their marks readjusted and I ended up going up to an A2. I originally got a B3 in my music paper but the mock practical brought it up to an A2.

    Here's my other ones now.

    Irish(O) - Eh... haha....
English (H - DEB) 45% - I did alright. I failed paper 2 but my teacher has a reputation for being a harsh marker.
French (H - Examcraft) 59% - The listening for this one was crazy. The
    wolves and Daniel Radcliffe
    were so hard.
Physics (H - DEB) 80% - Ah, I'm really disappointed. I should've done a lot better in this. I really need to study more.
Biology (H - own paper) 86% - I'm not happy with this either. I thought I got the A1. I was looking through my paper and it turns out that I lost a lot of marks for small things. My answers were right but it just didn't go with the marking scheme.

I might FINALLY have some results tomorrow. Some of the JC results started trickling in today, so hopefully some for us tomorrow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,257 ✭✭✭JSK 252

A mistake in my chemistry marking with regard to the atomic theory question in deb paper brought me up from 83% to 85% so I got an A2.

    So now Im at 535 overall. 5 A2s 1 B1 and C2 HL.

got 4 back so far, all higher!

Home ec: 74% B3 - mum's a home ec teacher and needless to say she wasn't happy with that!
History: 79% B2 - hoping for an a2/a1 in june with the report and also maybe with a bit of studying and such!
Geography: 93% A1 - ohhhh yeah:D first question i was asked by my teacher: did you know the paper?! for once i actually didn't! 80/80 on the biome really didn't instill her confidence in me!
Maths: Bahahahahaha...... dare i say it but 25%..... quote from teacher ''this is the worst exam i've seen in a long time... but you should stick with higher!''

ehh... no thank you my dear:D

also got irish paper one and the listening back: 69% combined... hoping to stick on the C1 side rather than dropping to C2 when the 2nd paper is taken into account!

so out of what i'm counting... that's 255 out of 300 really... not too bad, still need french english and irish paper 2 back to actually get the overall score!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,345 ✭✭✭SarcasticFairy

Got French back today. I got 66%, which I'm delighted with. I wasn't sure about dropping down to ordinary level, and was aiming for a C3 in the real thing, so I'm happy! :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,645 ✭✭✭Daemos

Geography (H) - 65% - A bit disappointed with this. Thought I'd do better. My long answers were too short, so I need to work on those. Still, at least I got 80/80 on the short questions.

French (H) - 74% - Delighted with this. Up almost 20% from Christmas. Did very well in Section 2 - 91/100. Need to work on comprehensions and aural. I can probably get an A1 with a bit of effort.

I only finished my pres this morning.

Am I the latest finisher or are there any other schools in the country still doing them?

The only result I got so far is that accounting was "poor". The grade has been kept from me as of yet.

    More results to follow

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,150 ✭✭✭LivingDeadGirl

Ugh I am DYING to get some results back! I thought English and Geography would be back at this stage. :( Another class got their Geography back, grrr! On the other hand, the longer I'm waiting for Maths the better!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,590 ✭✭✭Pigwidgeon

got all my results back, only got 310. really disappointed and annoyed about a few of the results. well all of them really. it has kicked me into gear though and i'm determined to do better for june.

and the icing on the cake, i have just realised if i get that in june, i'll get no offers, my lowest on the CAO is 390 i think. hopefully my portfolio goes well. going to have to be some serious changing around my cao and studying going on anyway

Ugh I am DYING to get some results back!

Same here. Maths should be back next week, since our teacher's correcting it. Art should be back too.

    all higher

    Irish 68%
    English 63%
    Maths 47%
    French 60%
    Music 40.5%
    Art 62%
    Economics 55%

economics was corrected so unbelivably bad, it was ridiculous. it was corrected all wrong and whoever it was didn't even correct one of my long questions or add it in  so I don't really know what I should have gotten! but I'm just going to go with the 55%

375 points, only need to go up about 130 points for my first choice :p
haven't start studying yet but I plan to start this week, hopefully I will

oh and I need to get a C3 in maths too!
