Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How do you do this in Word?

I have had a few failed attempts at this. Basically, I am handing in an assignment tomorrow and I need to do the following:

"All the preliminary pages have small Roman numerals (ii,iii, iv and so on). Please the number ii on the Summary, and continue numbering the preliminary pages in sequence. Note: even though you do not number the title page, it assumes the number i.
the Arabic number 1 goes on the first page of the Introduction. continue the Arabic numbering right though to the end of the last Appendix item".

How in the heck do you get Arabic and Roman numbers on the same document? As in, at the moment I can either have one or the other, but cannot figure out how to do the above.

    Thanks

You can insert a section break(next page).

Then in the footer choose "format page number" and select the format for the first section.

Go into the second section. Choose "format page number" Select the second format.

Select "Start at" and choose what every represets one.

    Hope that helps

Yikes. Do you have to insert a blank page to do this?

No. It depends where you place the cursor before inserting the break (section break; not a page break), especially if you're on the last line of a page full of text.
