Request: Please recommend a 32" TV

Parents tv is knackered even though only three years old.

Can anyone recommend a 32" tv please?

Would really appreciate any help.

Was looking at this one in DID for €699 down from €1000. What ye think?

Its full HD. They dont have HD and prob wont anytime soon. Any advice?
Think prob 100hz and 32".

well it depends on what price range you were looking for.
these would probaly be the cheapest.

i reccomend if you living near the north you should buy it down there as they are much cheaper there.

Sneachta, not going to recommend a TV, but unless you have reason to believe otherwise it's unlikely that your parents will be able to tell the difference between a 32" 1366 x 768 panel and a full HD 1920 x 1080 one of the same quality.

32" is too small to tell the difference between 1080p and 720p unless you're right on top of the thing, so don't worry about buying a "full HD" tv. The advice I'd give you to would be to buy from one of the manufacturers who actually makes their own LCDs - these would be Samsung, Sony, LG, Sharp, and a few others.
The budget brands of TVs have to buy their from these companies, so they don't get to choose LCDs until after the big hitters have taken the best ones. Often the no-name tvs will have fairly minor flaws that would fail quality control from the big names.

Have been checking out Dixons.co.uk and they have a big price range as you can see here. What would be good picture quality on a 32" lcd - sorry i dont have a clue about this. What else should i be looking for? Can you recommend one of these?

I bought a Sony Bravia KDL 32v4500 recently and I think it's very good. It also has an inbuilt Irish DTT tuner as well as UK Freeview tuner(if you live near the north and can receive this signal). The current Irish DTT is on trial at the moment with the 4 main Irish channels and 4 radio channels in digital quality. Official launch will be towards end of year.

If your parents get RTE/TV3/TG4 through SKY or cable, the DTT tuner is not essential.

Price currently on Pixmania(where I bought it from) is €558 +€15 delivery.(-€7 with discount code, see bargain alerts).

My sister bought that tv six months ago for €1,100. It's a very good tv and you won't go too far wrong with it at that price.
At the time Panasonic were including a 5 year guarantee and I'm not sure if they're doing that anymore though. If they are it would add an extra bit of peace of mind in case anything were to go wrong.
