    Folks,

Booked my parents and their friends on flight to Rennes from Dublin with Aer Lingus in July. They were due to fly out Tuesday to following Tuesday for a wedding on the saturday in between.
Aer lingus emailed us today to say the flights had been cancelled and they have rebooked all 6 passengers on the saturday to saturday night flight - therefore they will miss the wedding - so if they take this option they will have to fly out for a fortnight.

What should we do - the accomodation and car hire was booked yonks ago so it's really upset everyone and we stand to lose out on a lot of money?

    Any guidance would be appreciated

    L

They can cancel the booking and get the money for the flights back, but if the accommodation and car was booked outside of Aer Lingus, they're not responsible for that. Travel insurance would probably cover for that. They do have travel insurance, right?

Canceled flights are often covered by insurance too, and it might cover them to book with a different airline (at a higher cost).

You could get the money back and fly to a different airport (Tours?). Even Paris. Or pop them on the Ferry to Roscoff with their own car. Rennes isn't that far away.
