ye, it was moved about and changed days. They didnt bring elvis either because apparantley the stage at the TBMC couldnt support it:rolleyes:

The support was good too, glyder were great.

Dougie blair is the lead guitarist, no chris holmes, hes a mean "mother****ing" man:D

I oly live up the road so the bus journey was 10mins:P so i dont think i was that guy, there was a bunch of us at the gig, and he only signed one scratch plate:cool: but you could nearly see blackie thinking, this ****ing think is well going on ebay, but no its in my room, beside a whitesnake drumstick and a bottle of jack:D

Yeah I remember being a bit disappointed that elvis wasn't there too.

Glyder were fairly good as far as I can remember, a bit too like thin lizzy for comfort though.

I must have been mixing you up with some other lads then, but i definitely remember seeing a scratch plate off someone.

I'm sorry to take this off topic, but i really don't get the love for this band at all, they supported Fish last year and sounded like that early 90s cock-rock band who appeared in the first series of The Real World in 92 where the singer was one of the guys in the house.

I'll give em all the credit in the world for trying, but that's about it.

Definitely, both a part of my soundtrack of 1991 :D

And both tracks are waaaaay better live than they were in the studio. You can probably hunt down Soul Destruction live for a song on ebay, and it's well worth it. Picked mine up last year and busted it straight to DVD. :)

Hat's over to you both. The Almighty are possibly one of the best bands ever.
Jesus Loves You get's a mention from me, lurve that tune.
Also, Quiksand Jesus by Skid Row, that song gives me shivers every time I hear it, especially when Sebastian hits that high note.

What's your favourite rock ballad? Mine is Def Leppard - Bringing on the heartache. It's from before all the Hysteria hype and before the Every rose has it's thorn type of songs ruined the genre & is one of my favourite tracks of all time.

    + 1
I love this song and love early Def Leppard.

    and
    More than words - Extreme
I remember you - Skid row (so cheesy but i like it)
    nothing else matters - Metallica
    hollow years - Dream Theater
oh and the almighty!! I just listened to Little Lost Sometimes and its great!
btw, I don't know why but I don't get ozzy osbourne's ballad songs.

anyway, all remind me of ... when i was a bit younger...

    Skid Row - In a darkened room/Quicksand jesus/Wasted time
Mother love Bone - Chloe Dancer
    Queensryche -Silent Lucidity/anybody listening
    Motley crue- Home sweet home
Poison - something to believe in
    Heart -Alone

Does Alice in Chains "Down in a hole" count as a ballad?

+1 for Chloe Dancer - I will have to dig that out later on..
Ditto re Home Sweet Home... off topic but I started posting in the Pregnancy forum before we told people the news a few months ago... was trying to think of a new name and had just finished Motely Crue - The Dirt book, so my pregnant alter ego is called Sixx on boards!!! Wonder what all of the other pregnant Mams would make of him!! Anway...

Here's one for some of you with good memories...
Death Angel - A Room with a View
I've banged on about this somewhere here before but
Thin Lizzy - Still in Love
The Darkness - Love is Only a Feeling... whatever you think about them this is a FANTASTIC track
Oh and I can't remember the name of the song but Winger (cheesefest I know) had a great one years ago, something to do with a heartbreak predictably enough :D

Christ - I'd forgotten about 'Bandaged Knees' by The Almighty, cracking song!

One of my fave 'ballads' is 'Prodigal Son' by Iron Maiden - amazing guitar solos by Dave & H. I'd love to hear them do it live to hear Bruce singing it (it's off Killers, Paul did a fine job on it all the same). Come to think of it 'Strange World' off their first album is another one that I always liked a lot.

'Beyond The Realms of Death' - Judas Priest, another classic.
'Ghost of a chance' by Rush.
'Mama I'm Coming Home' by Ozzy

Could be here all day so I'll stop now ;)
The Darkness - Love is Only a Feeling... whatever you think about them this is a FANTASTIC track

I must say I do like that one - they made the video for it around Katoomba (Blue Mountains) just outside of Sydney, I was there a few weeks before that single was released so seeing that video brings back some good memories.

    Aerosmith - Dream On
    Ozzy - Goodbye to Romance
    Iron Maiden - Wasting Love
Guns 'N' Roses - November Rain
    Thin Lizzy - South Bound
    Scorpions - Always Somewhere
    U2 - All I Want is You
    Ozzy - Revelation (mother earth)

"'80s metal is the only metal" to paraphrase one of the 101 rules of Thrash Metal.

I'd forgotten about Dokken, that's a good song, there were some others but my vinyl is all melting into a pool in the shed in the WA summer & I haven't listened to them in years.

Cinderella were a bloody good band hidden under all the Hair Metal get up.
