Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If the internal roof height is over 1.8m, it has fixed bed, a hob and sink then it's possible with a VRT rate of 30% of market value. Road tax & Insurance would be reasonable. There's one on gumtree at the moment, is it the same one?.
If it doesn't meet the requirements then it may have to stay as a commercial and taxed/insured at commercial rated plus annual DOE.
If you decide to tax/insure it privately (ie. not a camper) then no requirement (yet) for NCT but pay private tax on it and private insurance.

Looking at it, it doesn't appear to be over 1.8m internal height.
Option A: Get a DOE test and tax/insure commercially. For DOE however you'd need to strip everything out for the test. Also if insured comercially you may be limited to usage. Tax around €250/year insurance €??
Option B: Register it as a car. Pay VRT as it has changed from a commercial to a car. VRT would be 30% or omsp. Tax approx €600/year incurance €?? No NCT on private vans yet.
Option C: Convince VRT & Tax office that it's a Camper. Pay 30% vrt but fight a loosing battle with Motor Tax office and end up paying €600/year as oppose to €90/year if a proper camper.
I think for anybody converting a Camper conversion they should ensure internal height is over 1.8m as it's near impossible to register as a camper if not.

hello.if it's the Renault on page 2 of the Gumtree camper van section, then it does not comply with height requirements, but if you tax it as a private vehicle you can get an NCT rather than a DOE, however there are high top Renault campers out there at a very reasonable price.
