Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Republic are stronger in every position at present.

Back when Neil Lennon and Roy Keane were playing, that would have neen a good midfield pairing.

Evans might get in ahead of O'Shea but after that I can't think of anyone else

I think evans might make it, at center half!

If time machines are permissible for selection purposes, let's talk business.

Aaron Hughes would be a great addition to the Irish squad imo. Release John O'Shea for midfield or full back if we needed him. Damien Johnson for the left side of midfield and Maik Taylor as reserve goalkeeper. Add Jonny Evans in there as well.

We would have had a serious panel right through the eighties.

Given Healeys scoring recod at international level, he'd be worth a shout too imo.

McCartney would surely start ahead of Kilbane at LB?

There's something wrong with the machine. It won't go back any further than 1921?

i dont actually know anything about his international form, or in fact who is playing that role for ireland at the minute, but Stephen Davis is on wonderful form for rangers right now.

David Healy instead of Robbie Keane.

    There, I said it.

hmmm, i think Keane still just edges it.

neither of them are on wonderful club form, but both seem to do well in international matches.

Keane's experience would have him in the squad for me.

But Kilbane always plays there. He's an institution at left back.

I hear the FAI are going to retire the left back position when Kilbane retires.

lol, i have a feeling big Laff will prove the doubters wrong over the next couple of years.

I have absolutely no idea why though

Roy Carroll would be good enough to be Given's backup. Northern Ireland really have not many players that would make the Ireland lineup.

If they merged the teams now Healy should be a certainty given his international record.

George McCartney must surely be a better option than Kilbane. Or has his form taking a dip since joining Sunderland? Finnan ahead of O'Shea too if he ever gets back fit.
