Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Agree with them. Subs that came on were Madden (who grabbed 2 goals), Aaron Greene, Rossiter, Mcevoy, Quigley and Mcguinness

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Madden:Very good when he came on he never stopped running.
Greene: Looked very keen to get involved in the game.
Rossiter: Good haircut , from the cm he played very good had a shot skim the post.
Mcevoy: Looks like one for the future.
Quigley: quick feet and good skill but trys to do too much , also missed a sitter.
Mcguiness: A super player in the air won everything and didn't get beat once on the ground.

Wouldn't agree, half the team have shaved heads now, getting hard to tell who's who :)

If it wasn't for squad numbers I wouldn't have recognised him.

I reckon O'Connor should be no.1 For the next few games after how he played against malaga and how poor murph was

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,314 ✭✭✭BOHtox

And we still have Stephan Gray , Gareth McGlynn and Ruairdhi Higgins to bring in to the squad

Didn't see how O'Connor played, but Murph was definitely worrying.

Thought Mcglynn played quite well against Athlone look forward to seeing him further. Would like to see Higgins too, as Keegan and Cronin aren't very attacking as a midfield pairing

I was just getting updates from the site and forum apparently he made 1 or 2 saves and kept a clean sheet

    Bohs v Sporting:D

Our first true North Side Derby and our first game against Bohs. Looking forward to it.
What do yous think about the first fixture of the season

Happy to actually be starting at home as champions this season. Would be dissapointed with anything other than a win.

Should be an interesting match as I expect yous to do fairly well this season. Expect us to win, but shouldn't be easy.

And as Bohsman said, good to start at home this season.

Nice to see the usual sense of humility firmly in place for the coming season.

Anybody would think you walked it last season. :p

Glad to see Murphy still helping Bohs concede...it is a natural reflex afterall - very difficult to lose  :pac:

Agent Murphy is in place and ready to strike.

Tip to Nutsy: don't let Baz within five yards of a bench or he'll start crying. Let him have a camp chair on the sideline or something.

Will probably head to the Shels game.

As for Murphy no guarantees he will be first choice, O'Connor is a very good keeper aswell. If you thought Murphy was trouble wait till you see Turner...

Only a fiver in for concessions and tenner for adults.

Hopefully our board gets a few guards for after the match, unlike anytime we've played in Dalyer the last couple of seasons.

Well the Herald reported it, so it's a rumour with some truth behind it, we'll find out with time I suppose

The above is incorrect. The fixture will be Rovers V Bohs.

I know but it sounds better when you put The Big Club first :D

If we do play Rovers in Landsdowne( I refuse to call it the Aviva) and it is a Rovers home game then then the FAI should be make sure that Rovers only get gate recipts for the amount they would get for a sold out Tallaght minus the security costs they would of incurred had it of been in Tallaght.

I d say if the match does go ahead it will get about 35,000 with all the barstoolers coming out to see the new stadium, but then going back to "supporting" Man Utd and Celtic the next week.

But Rovers would be giving up the advantage of it being played in Tallaght so there'd rightly be some compensation ;)

Having a derby as the show piece won't probably much of a spectacle for ole-ole-oles as it will probably be a cagey as the last one in Tallaght.

Also Baz, Turner, Keegan and Sullivan will probably get sent off. :D

    Murphy

    Heary Shelley Oman Powell

    Murphy Keegan Higgins Brennan

    Byrne Madden

    O' Connor

    Rossi Heary McGuinness Grey

    McGlynn Cronin McEvoy Greene

    Quigley Cretaro

So difficult to pick our strongest 11 this season. Anybodys guess as to what the starting lineup will be against Fingal.

Aren't gate receipts split 65-35? Or something like that anyway.

Agreed, I'd expect something like this:

    Murphy

    Heary - Shelley - Oman/Gray - Powell

    Brennan - Keegan - Cronin - Quigley

    Byrne - Cretaro

Would be harsh on Madden though as he scored plenty in pre season. We've so much competition for places, should keep everyone on their toes.

Not sure I'm mad about Quigley on the wing, he doesn't seem to like crossing the ball and holds on to it way too long for my liking.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

If anything Id say itll be Brennan on the left and Quigley on the right. Think the strikers will switch around a fair bit

  • Moderators, Regional East Moderators Posts: 23,233 Mod ✭✭✭✭GLaDOS

Brennan played right a lot last season, but you never know.

What do you think of Cretaro so far? I've been fairly impressed, seems quite good on the ball and has a hell of a jump for a small guy. Nice to have some pace up front too.

Only saw Cretaro in the first half against Shels, can see him played in a Kalonas type role coming on a lot for last 25 mins running at defenses.
