For regular users to choose. See here for details. An announcement or banner ad would be nice too.

(I'm not involved in this campaign, just a supporter.)

I've no particular problem with allowing people to decide to choose it as an avatar.... but its awful big innit? I'll look to see if it needs to be the exact size of our avatars or if it is dynamically resized.

yeah, we just kicked that around here. We think its fine. (ie we'll make it available shortly). In terms of precedent, in future we'll draw the line at the usual campaigns we wouldnt have in sigs or on banners and non-commericial only. So, this campaign fits but a "skittles paint the rainbow with your avatar" is going to be met with snorts of derision most likely! :)

Has uploading this had an adverse effect on regular avatars? They appear to have become teeny-tiny on my profile page whereas subscribers' avatars remain the same size.

Sorry, ignored it because I'm only paying attention to bug reports for the last month or two. Anything else that I do goes through DeV first.

Possibly, it wanted to "regenerate thumbnails" after which may have done something weird.

Always a good idea to have separate DeV and Live environments.

    Daft Dave Dialled Dev?

Also, anyone else regretting changing their avatar because they can't find their posts when scrolling through a thread?

You get used to it. Twitter has been like that for days.
