Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Premier Division
    Dundalk v Bohemians
    Bray Wanderers v Shamrock Rovers
    Derry City v Drogheda United
St. Patricks Ath v Galway United
    Sligo Rovers v Cork City

    First Division
    Mervue United v Athlone Town
    UCD v Limerick FC
    Shelbourne v Wexford Youths
    Waterford United v Sporting Fingal
    Kildare County v Finn Harps
    Longford Town v Monaghan United

Interesting to see how Dundalk fare, I reckon they'll flop. Drogs are probably gonna get a whopping by Derry.

Wanna see how good UCD and Fingal are from the get-go.

Get out to your local club.

What on earth is a gameweek?

I'll be at the Athlone match, should be about 50-60 of us, not a hell of a lot but better than none.

I reckon our squad, on half last years budget, is twice as strong.

Emeka and Noel up front FTW.

    Season prediction 5th.

Id imagine a big Rovers crowd travelling to Bray, what with the new players and new manager and general excitement.

I'm going to head to Waterford to cover the Waterford V Sporting Fingal game. Looking forward to it.

 We are playing Rovers away this weekend :)

I would think it will be a scintilating 0-0 at best in The Showgrounds on Saturday.

Hopefully Dundalk can make a good start tonight. Full house at Oriel I reckon... Big excitement in the town! :-)

I'm heading up for sure. Should be a decent crowd alright, every one is talking about it.

Reckon bohs will win 2-0, Crowe and Brennan to score

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Stick to your science nerd boy. You obviously know little about football predictions. There is no way in hell Bohs are going to come away from Oriel Park scoring two goals without reply. Not a chance. This ones got draw written all over it although if Bohs lose their heads and get a man sent off we're looking a ta a 2-1 Dundalk win.

Hope we can get something off Rovers tonight. Not too hopeful for the year though. I think it'll be a long one for us. :(

Any of you Shels fans able to tell me if Jimmy Keohane is playing for Wexford Youths?

Dundalk - Bohs is absolutely awful to watch.

    3-0 for Galway now:cool:
Sounds like it would have made a better game for TV tonight, even if only to see Kenna's reaction.:D

Great goal by Ndo to win it for Bohs. Really good ball and he finished well.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,238 ✭✭✭✭Diabhal Beag

The only thing I didn't like about that goal was that Darragh Maloney claimed it would be a top contender for Goal Of The Season. Talk about selling the league short.

    Derek O'Brien!

Happy enough with that, we can only improve from that performance.

The sights of the players covered from head to toe in the rubber from the pitch.

Standard win for the Big Club.

    Great start for Shels.

Jus over 1000 in Tolka as well apparently.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,697 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

It'd still be 0-0 in Bray if they were to play. Not too many seats free on the Rovers side. Buttimer (?) kept his consistency up for one anyway.

Still I liked what I saw mostly of Rovers except for upfront. Baker was awful, Bermingham not great, Purcell not great. Robinson and Rice were the pick..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,013 ✭✭✭✭eirebhoy

Pretty undeserved win for Bohs really. Dundalk had nearly all the chances and I think should have had a peno too.

Just over eight hours to go. Cant bloody wait. Yes it will be cold and miserable *peers out window* the burgers may be lethal and football slightly below the standards of Barca but I love every moment of it.. except loosing to Athlone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,184 ✭✭✭✭Pighead

Poor game last night although unlike eirebhoy I thought Bohs probably just about deserved it. They created the more clear cut chances and were pretty comfortable throughout. Fabio looks unfit, Singh was terrible and Bennion has to go! Great crowd in Oriel last night. 4000 or so, paying to get into the field of dreams!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,300 ✭✭✭CiaranC

Rovers were pretty poor last night, hope its just the fact that the squad hasnt gelled yet. Huge crowd there, and a nice touch from the Bray fans with their 'Good luck in Tallaght' banner.

Sorry to hear that, iregk. It's to facilitate TV, and was announced 2 weeks ago. The home match against Derry, a week later, is also a Friday game.

There won't actually be a Saturday home match until the 11 April.

O' Brien just wrecked my head. He never played like that for Pat's!!! His second goal was a cracker, in fairness.

Galway could have won by more. Pat's were useless. John Lester in midfield???? Holy jesus, i though Glen Crowe carried a bit of weight, but this bloke is huge!!!
Performances are going to have to improve if we wanna even stay up. That was the worst Pat's performance in a long while. Embarrassing!!

Nah, just trying to lull Cork into a false sense of security.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

We shall have to see. Must say that the last few times SPA have been down, the games have always been utter snoozes, which is surprising given they are normally exciting in Inchicore. One of the few teasm who try and attack in Turners Cross anyway, I'll give them that.

Well hopefully we have a few players back. We were missing about five or six through injury and suspension on friday. Kenna and Pesch even had to register themselves as players, so low were the numbers in the squad.
Still no excuse for that shambles of a performance.

Shouldn't take away from Galway though. I thought they played some decent football and deserved the three points!

Fellas were removed from Tolka Park for singing the

"John Delaney is an effing "C" " chant.

Proper order. No need for such. Not to mention - was Delaney at the match? If not, its an exersize in futility. Better off supporting their team.
