    Is it to late to sow bare root trees

    No, you should be fine for another few weeks. At least I hope so, as I've 50 down:), and another 300 to go:mad:

    Unfortunately by hand (well by spade) in case Wilson corrects me ;)

    Good on you.

    I've just cut 2 trees down (by chainsaw) to make room for a wall.

    I do intend to replace them with at least 4.

    P.S. Sorry for the sarcasm. Couldn't resist it.

    I put in 25 willows, 4 apple trees and some fruit bushes 2 weeks ago (bareroot from futureforests.net) and they are all starting to bud already.

    I wouldn't hang around, spring-is-a-coming (hopefully).
