three network ending "for life" offer

this is posted in rip-off ireland but is probably better off here because three have decided to end an offer which they advertised and sold as being "for life" meaning as long as you remain a three customer and remain on the three-pay priceplan. the original offer was for 5cent text, picture and video messages forever…

well they were quick off the mark after i sent an email to ComReg and coied to their contact us form. they have reversed the plan changes and have put me as contact on both accounts with a password. people may say why stick with three if they are so bad but it is more about forcing them to provide what they have promised as leaving is letting them off the hook!

the problem with porting off to another network is that they all have their failings although none as bad as three so far although meteor came close with fairy stories about an unlocking machine for nokia handsets that nokia were taking too long to repair:) they just wanted an excuse to refuse to give out unlocking codes imo
