Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nobody will be able to give you much valid advice unless you can tell us what you expect from a camera.

What do you want the camera for & what features are important to you?

    Hi,

I'm not too knowledgeable on compacts I'm afraid, but probably none would be great for sports due to slow operation (focus speed, shutter lag etc).

Did you check out the reviews on dpreview and steve'sdigicams?

They are both pretty well regarded camera review sites.

    Good luck with your decision.
    :)

    Hi,
Have a look here- Camera labs website this page is the 'best buy' section for compacts.
In the top right hand side there's a 'video tour' section as well.

DP Review website has a very good forum as well- just post your question in the 'open' section.

Finally when going to buy look at- Camerabox
I bought my camera from here.
It was ½ price compared to bricks n motar shop in Galway.good luck Pa

Pixmania are doing the Ixus 80 for E160 at the moment, which is a pretty damn good price for it.

Canon Ixus 80 for £142 including postage here.

Pity the postage to Ireland is expensive, otherwise it'd be a very good price (£125)

The canon ixus 90 is 1 euro cheaper than the ixus 80 is from pixmania, basically the updated model for cheaper.
