400 for upgrade, any suggestions?

    ok, ive got just under 400 to get an upgrade.

    currently i have...

    striker 680i which is now broken :(
    4gb reaper ram. 2 x 2gb sticks
    2 x 8800gt 512mb gpu's.
    700w psu.
    qx6700 @ 3.0ghz on water.

    im thinking of getting rid of the watercooling as the pump is very very loud and temps are rising cos i cant be bothered to keep cleaning it out.

    i also need a computer case as the wooden box i was using is too big :(

    so all together i need a new mobo, a new case, and something else to make it faster and better :)

    any suggestions?

    €50 used sli mobo from dabs and antec nine hundred case would be my choice.

    Graphics and cpu are more than fine, I think you should keep your money :p

    i aint gonna change my gpu's or cpu for a long time. they work wonder's.
    only problem i see with that mobo is it only has 4 sata ports while i have 8 internal harddrives.
    will the antec 900 fit that many?

    If you throw out the board and flog the RAM and CPU could you not get an i7 CPU, mobo and 3GB RAM?

    yes i prob could. but its so hard to sell stuff right now. recession and all that i would have to sell pretty cheap. plus, the cost of an i7 is still very high.
    and is it really worth going for an i7 right now? i mean the most i do is play a few games and download stuff.

    instead of the antex 900, i think ill get this.

    enough room for 8 drives. but will the v8 coolmaster fit in the case with ease? i dont wanna buy them and find out it doesnt fit :/

    so far i have on my list to get:

    Asus S775 Nvidia 650i ATX GLAN = €56
    StarTech.com 4 Port PCI SATA Raid 0,1 Card = €44
    nzxt tempest case = €95
    coolmaster v8 = €56

    total of €251 so far.
    i might get another 4gb of ram for €57

    total inc shipping €308 give or take a fiver.
