Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry. I may be getting confused which one you are looking at. The sumo is the green one. Bloody images aren't showing for me on mobile.

Not sure why you can't see them.

Imgur seems to be going the same way as photobucket and has already stopped third party hosting on watchuseek. Given the amount of traffic going through the sales section on watch forums the photo hosting crowds want a piece of the pie. Possibly one reason is Verticalscope hoovering up forums and making a ton on ad revenue.

    Seiko Presage "Espresso Martini" SSA345J1

Just need to find the 'Starlight' version for a reasonable price now.

Anyone else think those two are considerably nicer than any Rolex diver?

I'd have to agree with you. I own a Rolex now so I can say it haha . But I love my Seiko Sumo, Samurai and Turtles and I actually wear them into the Sea and pool, I doubt I'd be doing that with a 7k Rolex Sub or even an Omega seamaster 300 for that matter thats why I love the Seikos as a real diver/tool/dressy dive watch.

Here a picture of my 39mm explorer 214270 and my Seiko SARB035 just to compare sizes and looks side by side. Sarb is 38.5mm and Explorer is 39mm.

    20180924_101612.jpgupload images online

Still love that Sarb as much if not a little more then the explorer, the design and size is just perfect!

I never noticed a power reserve on them. They're a beautiful watch, definitely on the list.

I would love that Green Sumo

The green Sumo is a very cool piece what would that green dial go with?

The "blumo" (blue dialed and blue bezel) and the pepsi bezel sumo are real nice sporty feeling watches perfect for summer and holidays.

Love wearing my pepsi bezeled watches on holiday and during the summer am I the only one that thinks this?

I'd give both testicles for a Rolex Sub Mariner - sadly, my wife would have me assassinated if I ever did. Buy the watch that is, not donate my balls.

Telling her would be your first mistake!

A few years ago when i bought a new gun, i made every attempt not to hide it from the wife just didn't tell her i spent a few grand and got ANOTHER ONE! Took her 6 months or so to realise and by the time she asked i said yeah sure iv had it ages, you've seen it tons of times!

My point is, unless she is into watches, she probably wont notice! (Until people start commenting on your new rolex)

I say live dangerously and go for it, you deserve it....

So glad i got the blue face on this, was a top up between the blue and black when i was buying it. Love the way the blue looks when the different light hits it

That is a lovely dial for modding, missed that.

I've been using blue Stargate dials but they are day and date.

Do you know the bezel diameter?

    Very nice watch.

    Thank you.

I was going to add another blue Sumo but this thing is really nice. The 20mm lugs make it very wearable, case is 42.5 and the bezel the same. Not sure of the inner diameter but yobokies has lumed inserts that fit the watch so I'm guessing it's pretty standard Seiko

Inspired by the thread about the old Rolex find, here is the old Tudor I have lying around and mentioned:

If anyone knows any details about it, I would be interested to hear them as I am very ignorant about movements and watches.

TBH I've no clue. I've not seen a Tudor "tank" rectangular cased example before. The name of the Kenyan retailer adds interest and must have a backstory. Can't imagine it spent to much time in Africa as that kinda climate plays havoc with dials. Very nice piece though.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Got an update today from Richard Askham on the service of my Bell Matic. The Movement has been fully serviced with no issues and the case and bracelet cleaned and the crystal polished. The only thing needed was new caseback and alarm pusher gaskets. It is currently on a test winder and hopefully it will be ready late next week.Really looking forward to having it back.

I'm envious, he sent you the full strip down pictures.

Watch looks great! Richard did an ace job on mine.

I like to set the alarm to 1645 when I wear it at work, the noise is delightful (only way to describe it) and ace way to get a heads up on the time when I'm busy (I work way too many hours at work getting my head stuck into stuff), not allowed phones so hard to get an alarm

First post here, been admiring the watches here for a while and would love to start my own decent collection in the near future.

A friend of the family was working in a factory producing this watch and it didn't pass a quality test so was deemed a reject, anyway he brought about four watches home as a gift (all rejects) this watch made its way to my mam whos friend owned a jewelers and was able to fix whatever the problem was. Don't know what they go for but was delighted that i got this for free. Been wearing it everyday for about four years now.

I've an Omega De Ville, black face and black strap (424.13.40.20.01.001).

Strap isn't the most comfortable for me, I've had it a year from new now and time to replace the strap. Leaning towards a hirsch voyager alligator strap with a deployment buckle. Almost certainly will get a black one..... Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for anything else? Would a green or burgundy possibly work with the black face on the watch??? Thanks!

Perhaps something from Hirsch with red stitching to brighten up the black?

It sure would, that would be a great two piece collection. I want to add a 36mm OP or Tudor black bay 36mm next. Tudor is €1500-€2000. The OP would be atleast €4500 So I'm leaning towards the Tudor. I think for me, one Rolex is enough in the collection. Don't think I could spend north or 5k on a watch again.

Got married last month and decided to mark the occasion on honeymoon with this (Black Bay 36).

Decided on leather as this is to compliment my Aqua Terra which is always on bracelet, and was able to put the difference towards a hilariously expensive dinner at the Park Hyatt in Tokyo.

Like the look of Tudor watches but the case size seem to be huge on most models

I have small wrists so not a big fan of large case sizes. The BB 36 is 36mm however. 36-39mm seems to be the sweet spot for me.

Obviously I've some time on my hands this week...I changed the strap on the OP 114300 to the leather one I have on standby. I've not seen this done anywhere yet for the new model (black and white versions) of the OP. [I tried to copy those stock hands in pocket watch shots, but it's harder than you'd think on your own...] I'm liking this watch a lot.

Picked up something a little different. Portuguese brand Prometheus, founded in 2008 and specialising in divers watches with minimum rating of 300m.

This is their Piranha model with a 500m rating, the respected Miyota 9105 (hacking, hand wind, etc) movement. Case is just on my limit at 44mm but wears smaller I think.

Lume strong enough to use as a flashlight :D

Have a couple of nice straps to go with it to give me more versatility.
