Thanks! Looking at the pictures, particularly the 3rd one down, was the first time I actually noticed the Omega symbol on the crystal before. I wore this watch a few times, the last time I did the strap broke as I was crossing a bridge walking into Limerick city and it fell to the path in front and I ended up kicking it off a railing as I hadn't even noticed the strap breaking, very lucky I didn't kick it through the railing!!

Hi all, I've been lurking the forum for the last while and I've learned quite a bit from it, so thanks for all the explainations and information.

So far I have two watches:

The first is an Omega Seamaster Pro 300m (Model 212.30.41.20.01.002) I got myself as a graduation present two years ago. It's on my wrist daily and I love it. No pics of this atm unfortunately.

The second is a vintage Omega from 1961 with a 268 movement. I actually picked up this from Carpenter over on Adverts this evening.

    1fc1c1c2db5852e08ffc380475e26336d157fb872f105d5a3139ab7e613829a8.jpg
*pic robbed from Carpenter's advert on Adverts.ie

The pic really do not do it justice. This watch is pristine.

Both my mother and father have vintage Omegas and I'm planning to restore them as a present for all those years they put up with me.

I'm also looking at getting a Planet Ocean and a couple of other vintage Omegas. Watch this space.

Another lurker and first time poster here. Since discovering watch forums I've become fascinated by Russian watches - something I didn't even know existed a few months ago. Anyhow, here's a pic of my first russian:-

    Raketa-Kopernik-5.jpg

Sorry for the poor quality shot, I haven't quite got the hang of photographying watches yet, but as you can see an old Raketa Copernicus. Cosmetically in good nick and keeping good time.

First stab at a diver watch so went with the black "Mako".

Great weight and build quality in this, I was very surprised. I am looking for a suitable rubber strap for it at the moment. Bought from creationwatches.com

Thats a lovely PAM you got there. Enjoy. Beautiful strap by the way. I expect you will be buying a selection of straps for it now. That is what is so great about PAM's.. a change of strap compleatly changes the "mood" of the watch.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,731 ✭✭✭Bullseye1

I really like the shape of the Pam but for me it needs a subdial. I really like their 8 day reserve.

personally i prefer the uncluttered dial -although the 233 manifattura 8 day reserve is a beautiful watch but almost 3 times the price of the base models.
I was really lucky to get the 390 as it is a boutique only LE watch and i got on the waiting list the day after it was announced - flippers are already selling it with a $2000 mark up!

here is the link to the 233, beautiful watch http://www.paneraisource.com/watch_details/Manifattura_55.html

Nothing fancy at all but at about €10 delivered it's one that always makes me smile. I work in retail and on the odd occasion I'm on the shop floor and have this, I always get a smile and a question or two when a customer asks the time and I take this out.

Surprisingly it keeps pretty decent time.

can anyone give me any info on this.
is it worth keeping, will it gain in value or has it lost value.
i bought it in 2008 new and never wore it.
i can't get any info on it

All the info you need is on the dial :) It's a Tag Heuer Aquaracer (Lewis Hamilton Limited Edition). Model: CAF7114.BA0803. A limited edition of 3500.

The bad news is it's probably unlikely to gain in value. Despite being a limited edition, 3500 is not very limited, it looks to have had an RRP of $2500 and one ebay sale shows them going for $1600 as of October 2011.

If you have not worn it since you got it, I'd be inclined to sell it on and put the money towards something else that might get use.

Alternatively you could hold off for a while, in the hope that he wins a few races next season, that might help it's value :D:D:D

    Sorry couldn't resist:p

The Deville is 2 years old now, a bit more delicate so only gets worn once in a while....

This is a 1980 CWC "no circle" G10 "Fatboy" and its also my Birth Year which is nice. I picked the watch up on TZ-UK for a good price. I teamed it up with a brown leather nato and I think it works well. Let me know what you think.....

Having tried on Homer's PAM 000 and Sparrowcar's Getat Pam Hommage I decided to get one for myself. Sparrowcar's watch has a PVD coating but I went for a brushed finish on mine. This arrived from Hong Kong today. And Im really liking it so far.

It's just the brown leather strap that came with it. It's not great quality so I'll probably pick up a good one sometime it the future. It will do for now though.

Decided to share. Pretty humble collection compared to what some of you guys have!

    Top Left:Seiko Monster (SKX779).
Auto movement. no hacking or winding.
Fairly affordable automatic watch. No frills but built to last and looks awesome!

    Top Right:Seiko Alpinist (SARB059).
    Auto movement. Hacking & winding
Outside of a grand seiko this is about as awesome as they get. The face is dark dark green, just lovely. Has the 6r19 movement which is lovely. Prob my fav. Doesnt get nearly enough wear as im afraid of damaging it.

    Bottom Left: Seiko Cesar (SNDA13)
    Quartz Diver.
BIG WATCH! Not a fan of quartz but got this at a good deal. its very substantial, and looks awesome. gets noticed more than most of my (IMO) better Automatic watches.

    Bottom Right: Seiko SKXA35 Diver
Auto Movement. No hacking or winding.
Just got this one recently ( found it online at a great price and couldnt refuse). Currently my daily watch, although im sure that will change next week. got a mesh bracelet for it but it ended up not suiting it so left it on the jubilee bracelet. unbelieveable watch for the money. Unbelieveable watch regardless.

The build quality is very good on these Velatura's. The case back has a cool design also.

I received my Getat about 6 months ago but forgot to post it, it's almost the exact same as yours Mitch. Great watch for the price you're paying for it.

I think my choice of blue hands on brown dial was a bit misjudged but still I'm happy with it. Also being a handwound is a bit of a pain when you've many watches to wear.

My biggest bugbear with the PAM000.. I'll forget to wind it when I put it on, and while there is still power in reserve, it will stop running while I'm wearing it and I get caught out looking at the wrong time :o

Handy-windy, no date ...that's the easiest really ...just set, wind and go and then put back and forget until next time.
