Most likely, taking into account the sheer amount of owners bombarding the big gun's (modmyi & bigboss repos ) servers. Very hit and miss at present; errors getting thrown up all over the place. Iphone tweaks will be in huge demand for a few days so its just a waiting game.

Could someone give me a link or even a walkthrough here for Jailbreaking an iPhone 4s on 5.0.1 from the very beginning.

Bear in mind I have no idea really what to do.

I don't think the 4s is included with the new 5.0.1 jailbreak

I have the tethered jailbreak, because I updated to 5.0.1 through itunes.

Is it possible to untether it by using the untethered version now?

Yes just download Condor Untether from Cydia

Nothing at all released yet for the iPad 2 or the iPhone 4s unfortunately.

Pod2g was gifted enough cash before Xmas and bought both devices and is currently working on both!

I gave him a couple of euros today via PayPal, the guy made my Christmas. If anyone has PayPal have a think about donating. This lad more or less did this on his own.

Have you updated to 5.0.1 before attempting the JB ?

Theres alot of tweeks not working from cydia with ios 5.
Five icon dock for instance wont install

The only thing I can think of would be that you may not be using the latest version of redsn0w or sn0wbreeze.

ok.. about to jailbreak. just downloaded newest version of itunes. now downloading 5.0.1
have redsnow in my pwnage folder. tiny umbrella done and iphone backed up.

One thing that might help some people with older PC's is that my old Dell (2001) won't handle an iphone upgrade anymore. Even with a self powered usb hub it just isnt up to the job. I guess the old girl just hasnt the power anymore. Herselfs new laptop has to be used. I miss the days when my old Dellfriend was the fastest girl on the black

Yes you have to be on 5.0.1 BEFORE attempting the jailbreak....

If you're already on 5.0.1 have people been doing the backup and restore with the downloaded firmware as it says in the guide?

I have in the past but I don't see the benefit. It would be slightly cleaner and it ensure people are on the current version, but other than that...

All seems fine. In 5.0.1 and with cydia. Few unmentionable thIngs missing but I'll work on that tomorrow.

Installed for me after a few attempts at it, sometimes restarting cydia helps if something wont install
