    Hi,

    I have a iPhone 3G with v4.1 and 5.14.02.

    Is there an unlock only available for this version ?

    I know there are a lot of jailbeaks available, but I don't want/need that.
    I just want to unlock the phone.

    Is this possible ?
    How can it be done?
    Or is it not yet available.

    Unlock can only be done after a jailbreak. No other way afaik

    If I do a jailbreak can I then unlock it?
    I have seen that some versions cannot be unlocked?

    What jailbreak is recommended for this version ?

    You need to do a potentially risky baseband upgrade to 6.15, try redsn0w with baseband upgrader, then try ultrasn0w from cydia. (This is my current setup)

    I am getting "Could not activate cellular data network" after doing the same as above, any ideas?

    Edit: I've actually noticed that in Settings > General > Network I have a Cellular Data Network > that has data from a network that I am trying to get removed from....any ideas?

    5.14.02 cannot be exploited.

    your mixing up firmware and baseband, the firmware gets jailbroken and has nothing to do with baseband, baseband gets unlocked using ultrasn0w

    just got a replacement iphone 4 with 4.1 on it so I successfully JB using limer1n.

    Any idea why every so often it respings for no reason? Like when a call is coming in the apple logo appears for a few seconds and then lets me answer it?

    will this jailbreak work for iphone 3gs running on IOS4.2.1 baseband 05.15.04.

    will it also work for iphone 3gs on firmware 4.2.1 on 06.15.00 baseband.

    Yes it will, but unlocking is separate from jailbreaking.

    So last week I got an iPhone 4 on o2 prepay and I am thinking about jailbreaking it so I just have a few questions!

    Do I have to unlock the phone before I jailbreak it, it is currently locked to o2?

    Is there any risk in jailbreaking it?

    The iPhone is running Version 4.2.1 is that a tethered jailbreak? as I don't fancy having to connect the phone to the computer every time I want to turn the phone back on If I turned it off.

    no need to unlock unless ya want to use a sim other than o2

    jailbreaking doesnt harm the phone at all and ya can use greenp0ison to jb untethered, its only available for mac at the moment but should be released for windows in a few days

    You can upgrade the baseband and unlock it that way but you won't be able to go back to previous ipsw.there seems to a glitch where the gps sort of gets screwed.it's done on mine and it's fine.

    no he cant, its an iphone 4 and will probably **** up the phone if he tried to install the ipad bb

    your getting confused with unlock and jailbreak, 4.2.1 is the firmware or version and 03.10.01 is the baseband or modem firmware
    jailbreak is dependant on firmware, unlock is dependant on baseband and nobody knows when or if it will get unlocked

    I'm about to try it now wish me luck.

    yeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssssssss it worked on my iphone 3gs 16gb MB version on ipad baseband.

    But it doesnt work for iphone 3gs MC model on ios4.2.1 on baseband 05.15.04.

    The jailbreak didn't work or are you trying to unlock it? 05.15.04 can't be unlocked.

    It wasn't sucessful. After putting it in dfu mode and I ran jailbreak. It stopped when the green line reached the end and said jailbreak unsucessful.
    Quit to retry.

    I did this several times but it's the same result.
