Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    The angle doesn't really do it for me... I would have shot from a slightly lower angle and tried to capture more of her eyes. Interesting shot, though.

    borderfox,

    i like the picture. the little girl on the horse is obviously the main subject but my eye is drawn to the blown highlights to the left of the horse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,263 ✭✭✭✭Borderfox

    I actually wanted the highlights blown as a kind of halo around the pony. I hate doing presentation shots as nobody buys them so I try to do something different with them just for experimentation, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,393 ✭✭✭AnCatDubh

    Seeing as i'm on a black n white st patrick's parade theme - here's another;

    well I finally did it...ran a roll of 35mm through my Diana+, twas just for a test roll...result? Some crazy looking pictures, most of them rubbishy, and I didn't bother with doing the sprocket hole thingy either. If you're thinking of trying it...make sure to tape up the little red window at the back a TON! I used (what I thought was a lot of) white electrical tape and it didn't seem to cut the mustard, all my pics turned out red :( Lessons learned, hopefully if I try it again I'll get some better results! Anyways I liked this one the best

    Arciphel - My landscapes suck - do you use anything like a polariser for yours or are you doing a lot of post on the colour?

    Gorgeous shots over this thread.

    @ Arciphel : one of the most visually appealing (to me anyway, for what its worth :) ) landscape shots i've seen in a while.

    Spookywooky. Going back with step-ladder (my real ladder left us when I was a kid) this week to get a slightly better angle.
    Film fuji iso200. Camera Canon A1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,840 ✭✭✭Arciphel

    joconnell I shot this with the Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 which is a monster with an integrated lens hood, you can't mount filters on this bad boy at all ;) So no, no polariser, I just adjusted the vibrance setting in LightRoom and took down the saturation slightly. The main thing was the light, it was about 8 c'clock in the evening. If I took it at any other time I think it would look very ordinary!

    KylieWyley it's down in Fenit in Kerry. It's about twenty miles from Tralee. I geotag all my pics so other peeps can go to the same places, share the wealth and all that :) so if you go to the photo page on flickr and click "map" it'll show you where.
