Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I dont mind that line up they are really going for it but I can see rooney being put on the left and Giggs behind berbatov I hate when ferguson does that

I'm very happy with that line-up, except maybe with JOS but that cant be helped

Viera ahead of Muntari and lacking full match fitness is odd.

And whats the problem with JOS, he has had a very good season to date and was ever present in the back 4 during VDS clean sheets. Even last week didnt he lay on the ball for Rooney to equalise against Newcastle.

No Park Ji-Sung? Honestly, im not too happy. He is such a big game player for us.

Watch out for Balotelli tonight lads, he's a talent or so I'm led to believe.

Well if fitness is an issue you would start him rather than risk him as a substitute. That way you only use one sub instead of possibly two.

In fairness apart from Rivas, Muntari was the worst player on the pitch last time out. Even a quarter fit Viera would give more than what Muntari did last time out.

I'm feeling dodgy about this one.

Inter are well capable of grinding out a draw. I definitely think they can score.

I'm a bit worried that JOS, at RB, might be exposed. I wonder if Josie might decide to try and test him by focusing attacks down his side. Hopefully JOS does the business for us - he's well capable of it.

The line up seems fairly attacking. Although it might be that Rooney will drop back to the wing at some stage, or even start there but I doubt that.

Hopefully Ferguson's plan is to blast Inter away from the start and he sends the team out to attack. I hope that if we do get a 1-0 lead we don't sit back and defend all night.

Yeah but hes not our first choice right back, Gary Neville, Wes Brown and Rafael all better options imo.....and hes by far the most likely player in the United team to have a bird-brain moment in defence. Will prob score the winner now....

He has improved a lot this season though.

Pretty happy with that line-up. Dont see him puttin Rooney out left at home. I'm guessing this is a straight 4-4-2. Really nervous but hopeful we'll win.

    VDS
    -O'Shea-Rio--Vidic--Evra
    Carrick--Scholes
    Ronaldo---Giggs---Rooney
    Berbatov

Bench:- Evans, Eckersley, Park, Anderson, Tevez, Fletcher, Welbeck,

    .

I thank you. Haven't seen the subs bench yet so I dunno if I got that right.

And what about VDS last week, he had a couple of "bird brain moments" to, and to be honest I think Gary Neville is no longer considered first choice, Rafael will eventually be first choice, but SAF has stuck by JOS this season on numerous occassions when Neville and Rafael have been fit. If Brown was fit, then yeah he would probably be ahead of JOS.

I thank you. Haven't seen the subs bench yet so I dunno if I got that right.

Subs: Foster, Anderson, Park, Evans, Fletcher, Gibson, Tevez.

Subs: Toldo, Maxwell, Figo, Cruz, Adriano, Muntari, Rivas.

Anyone thinking giggs will be on the left is in sane IMO. Has not done it once this season. Can't see it starting tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,247 ✭✭✭ROCKMAN

    Both Scholes and Giggs hmmmmmmmmm
(been burned a few times this season so I'll say nothing till after the game )

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Muntari was rubbish last time, so I don't blame Maureen for starting Vieira.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 634 ✭✭✭pierrot

Santon is a talent, but he's very right footed at left back and playing away, could see Ronaldo do a job on him.
Anyone see a touch of Real about that Inter line up. Absolutely no pace, apart from super-Mario, and Cordoba who is pretty quick.
Disappointed to see Jason Park isnt in the 11, his closing down would go well against the Italians. He was crap in the last game though.

May the best Inter win. :)

Berba out maybe? atho Carlos isnt a bad replacement :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,608 ✭✭✭Spud83

    Is he out!!!!!!

Balls 4-5-1 does not work well with Tevez or Rooney leading it.

    Pitchside announcer doesn't think so.

FFS Ronnie Whelan on RTE !

    He is useless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,789 ✭✭✭nicklauski

Berba up front wth Rooney according to RTE.
What do you think of the new badge that'll be on the jerseys. World Champions. Will be on all the cup jerseys until there is a new winner this year :D

Better then him doing the actual match coverage. I can't believe RTE show it as 4-4-2 and call it conservative.

Not liking Ronaldos new hairdo. He's gone a bit Van Persie on us. I reckon he'd look great with the full on curly headed effect ala Fabio and Rafael Silva. Hopefully he'll take these words of advice on board when he reads the match thread tomorrow.

That new crest doesn't suit the jersey.

Doesn't really change much. Inter still just need a goal to get through.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

For like, the tenth year in a row, Inter bottle the Champions League.

Didn't expect that to happen this early.

Come on Inter, just one will do!
