Going to London for couple of days in the last week of this month. Looking for a resonable hotel in central London.

    Anyone any idea? Any links?

    Thanks in advance.

Link below to video on Guardian's website of cheap chain hotels in London, think the Travelodge got the best recommendation.

I recently had to make a booking for a London hotel for the end of this month and found a bit of info about this.

I eventually booked via Hotwire.com. The deal with this website is that they offer the hotels at discounted rates but do not name the hotel until you book. However, if you do a search you can find forums that identify the hotel based on location, star rating and amenities.
I ended up booking Express By Holiday Inn London - Earl's Court (described as a 2.5 start hotel with breakfast in Kensington - Chelsea - Knightsbridge area) for a total cost of €55 a night. My sister who is staying 5 nights managed to book the same hotel for less than €43 per night.

Other options - depending on availability:
IC hotel group (Holiday inn, Intercontinental etc) have a 2 nights for the price of 1 offer until end of March. There might still be rooms available.

The Imperial Group hotels in London seem to be centrally located and has a decent offer - complimentary 3-course dinner on the first night when staying two consecutive nights. Prices start at £65 per room per night.

Citadines Aparthotels is having a birthday promotion, offering rooms for £25 per night. The catch was you needed to book each night separately. Availability was limited.

    Goodluck! :)

I used lastminute.ie for a hotel for last weekend. They operate the same "Top Secret" hotels thing as the poster above mentioned. We too googled some of the description to find out the identity of the hotel. So we managed to get two nights in the 4* Hilton Trafalgar Square for €305, when the hotels own website had the room at €550 for the same stay dates.

Fantastic hotel, really spacious rooms, we got 4th floor with view over Trafalgar square. On the lastminute.ie site it was listed as "Design hotel centrally located on Trafalgar Square - 4* - London".

Ok my one wasnt exactly cheap, but there are plenty of other cheaper stays in the Top Secret list on the site too with similar % savings to be had.
