Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I actually thought to myself that he better be careful the way he hoped over the boards.

Delighted for my former idol. He'll never be the fittest lad on the park again (through no fault of his own either) but there's nobody that can possibly say they aren't happy he's playing football again.

That's an emotional bit of footage.

He's 32 and a half. The likes of Edmundo and Romario were able to play and score buckets of goals in South America right up to the 40 mark. Of course, Ronaldo has a lot more physical baggage and doesn't look fit right now (I am of course delighted to see a professional athlete who is carrying as much weight as I am though! :D). But who knows? It certainly looked like it meant a lot to him. If he can get playing week in and week out and lose the weight he may have a few more years left to go.

Delighted to see him back and scoring again.

He looks like a sunday league player with a beer belly. How the bollox has he never lost that weight after all the months of training he has had ?

    He was always like that.
I reckon God was trying to even things up, if he was able to get really fit it wouldn't been fair on any defender in the world....

For Real ? I think he wasnt as fat while at Inter before he messed up his knee. He was certainly a lot faster, no ?

He was never that fat, but always fairly chunky.
Wasn't the fittest either but he had some seriously explosive pace

Him and Adriano could be brothers.

i would wager that both are probably fitter then most people on this site ;)

Ronaldo was pure raw natural born talent.....Adriano had amazing potential but he never reached it, Ronaldo did however, he just got ridiculously unlucky with injuries, he was diagnosed with a glandular condition which is why he had weight problems..

It didnt diminish his influence on the pitch, he scored goals everywhere he went

I loved the fact that the commentators used to give out about his participation and then hear them back track when he scored 2 or 3 goals.
    Well done ronaldo-class act.
