    Hi Guys,

I'm new to Galway and was wondering where to get big, fat, greasy Italian style chipper chips. You know the kind you smother in salt and vinegar and eat on buttered bread..mmm..droool. I haven't found anywhere yet that does them. I'm living in the City Centre so I'm close to everywhere.
    My cravings are becoming unbearable!!

    Thanks

I would say most chips are big & fat :D
Did you look in Kettle of Fish and Charcoal Grill, both on Cross Street? Maybe even La Salsa on Mainguard street, around the corner from Kettle.

McDonaghs is the thing I miss most about living in Galway. The curry chips, fish and even their chicken is gorgeous.

Do Charcoal grill do the thickcut ones? Last time I was there I'm fairly sure it was the standard out of the packet job.

I'd rate KOF as the best. There nice and thick cut without being drenched in greece like Marios/Nicos which get sickening very quickly.

Charcoal's ones are fairly generic and bad.

La Salsa do nice chips actually, nice and big and crispy as well.

You will find what you seek in Vinnies on Dominick Street.

Across from Buskers... you can follow up your chips with a deep fried mars bar if that's your bag.

I didn't think their chips were that special to be honest.
