Price vs Reassurance

    I've been searching around for a water filter - whole house system and have narrowed down to a couple of options

    CHEAPER: Purchase from Water2buy (or similar) and fit myself/get a handyman to do it

    or

    MORE EXPENSIVE: Purchase from a local plumber who will do the lot

    Money is tight, but I'm veering towards the more expensive option for a number of reasons. He's known to family and has done the same system for them (no problems), I would know where to go if there was a problem and he's local (and I do believe is using local suppliers wherever possible).
    Am I mad - is the reassurance worth it (approx €400 difference)
