Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Francesca, welcome to Boards.

The portrait stuff is really nice especially the third shot of the profile. Really nice light coming in from the front and blending back to the neck.

The jumping stuff needs a bit of work in framing and timing, looks like a well lit equestrian centre though so thats always a good thing.

    Thanks,

The jumping ones are pretty hard to get when you say framing, to try and get in a good spot...

    Any tips?!

The right angle for the jump, try not to be too straight on like the first shot (always better to be at 45 degrees to the jump) I would walk the course more than the riders and if I can I will have three jumps in one end and another three worked out to change to for the next round. Depending on the arena I would work inside so its a lot to juggle when you are working, Name of rider/start number of shot/take pictures/dont get run down!! :)

In this shot the rider is going to our left after the jump so they will be looking in that direction

Most times I will try to very from landscape to portrait (some like them/some dont) also when it gets really dark like this one I try to fill the frame more, minimises the noise effects ISO 3200

In the last two pictures this would be the optimum position for the shot (imo)

I like the last one, the tiny kid on the tiny pony mid flight. It's sort of comedic.
