Blocklayers - different rate for Bricks + Blocks ?

    About to contact Blocklayers for prices, for the standard cavity walls - 100mm outer + inner leaf with a 110mm cavity between the inner and outerleaf.

    At the Front of the House on Ground Floor Level, there will be some red brick, and there will also be some red brick detailing around some of the windows.

    I would like to get quotes from a few Blocklayers, per block so I can compare the quotes, but just wondering ... do Blocklayers charge a different rate for laying Bricks as opposed to Blocks?

    Yes. Especially for Facing bricks.
    Could be 20 to 40 cent more, so if it was 80 cent per block it could be €1 per brick.

    There is a real skill to laying bricks and approx 3 rows of bricks = 1 row blocks.
