Battery Life on Garmin

Hi have a garmin 265wt.Just wondering how long should i charge it in the mains adapter??Also i have it only a week ,am only getting 1 hour or so battery life without being plugged in to car adapter. .Any ideas ? I have bluetooth enabled on phone,could this be draining the battery??

Reducing the screen brightness will make a difference.

To get a full day's portable use, pick up a portable USB charger (maplins or ebay). You can get chargers that you pre-charge or just put in regular batteries.
