following on from all the "what's the best...." threads:

Y'know sometimes, often in fact, your Ipod or Zen or whatever will randomly select the weakest song on an album, songs you're just not in the mood for today, and you end up flicking the "next" button like it was a Sky remote?
well, today was not such a day!:)
Just back from about an hours' walk with the dog, and this is what Mr Zen randomly chose for me today:

Zeppelin - Black Dog (from 4 symbols)
Floyd - Run Like Hell ( live version from Pulse)
Floyd - Sorrow (live version from Pulse)
Talking Heads- Psycho Killer (live version from Stop Making Sense)
Genesis - Watcher of the Skies (from Foxtrot)
Primal Scream - Loaded (from Dirty Hits)
April Wine - Say Hello (from Harder, Faster)
Genesis - Guide Vocal (from Duke)
Budgie - Breadfan ( from Never Turn Your back On A Friend)
Linton Kwesi Johnson - Bass Culture (from Bass Culture)

    Every one a winner!
Anyone else had a similarly pleasing run of songs they were really in the mood for?

If they were picked randomly how do you know you were in the mood for them?

    :p

Ok Here I'll hit shuffle a few times...

    Devils Island - Megadeath..
Sunshine Of your Love - Cream
    Overkill - Motorhead
    Rosalie- Thin Lizzy
    The Hollow - Perfect Circle
    Sunshine - Alice In Chains
    Gangland - Iron Maiden
No No No - Deep Purple...

What ya reckon, good shuffle/bad shuffle?

Hmmm. Maybe i'm missing something here, but......because I enjoyed listening to them.

Whereas some days you seem to just keep flicking cos it doesn't randomly play songs you're in the mood to listen to?

    Seemed straightforward enough to me....

Some good ones there alright. Some Ok, & some I'll admit I don't know.

Maybe this is more for Ned, but:
let's assume that every song on your MP3 is there because you like it, aye?
But there are days you're more in the mood for some songs than others.
So some days, you might have to skip a lot of randomly selected songs cos it's not what you really want to listen to at that time.
Other days, the randomly selected songs happen to be just right & you can listen for an hour without having to skip a single song. Like today, for me.

So my question was/is: any of you have a similarly pleasant shuffle where every song hit the mark & you didn't feel the need to skip past a selection?

Sorry m'man, but this thread was begging for an answer like this, so here goes.

Anytime i listen to music on my phone, i always feel that way, primarily because i don't put crap music on it. :)

For the laugh I stuck on random and hit it 5 times. This is what came up:
    • Natalie Walker - Waking Dream
    • Nirvana - Aneurysm
    • Leiden - Crazy
    • Something from a Polish band called Neuma (It's helpfully labelled 'Ścieżka Audio 04')
    • Enter Shikari - Mothership

Note to self: Remove music you don't listen to from MP3 player :).

    lol Shawn
    Yeah, I guess it was.:o

I don't put crap on mine either!

What I meant, but clearly failed to convey, was:
I've got, for example, a load of Led Zep on mine. It's all good - it's Zep!
But I wouldn't necessarily want to hear In The Light every time I stick the Zen on. Most days yes, some days no. Genesis- obviously I love all their stuff. But some days I'm not really in the mood for 23 minutes of Suppers Ready, so if it comes on I'll skip it.

But today, every track that came on was a track I was really in the mood for.
And I was asking had anyone else had a similarly good day.

It made sense to me anyway!
But I'll grab me coat on the way out....

    Seph dude...

You've got a fair few posts here, and I'll admit I don't know a lot of the music your pod has randomly chosen for you.

Which of your posts has the selection you were happiest with?
