Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I may walk to Dalymount tonight, though not from Monaghan.

Look what Monaghan did to the thread!

Stank it up for Shels fans anyway. They can't seem to go there and win a game.

Just because Irish football says it is for real fans, it doesn't mean that the intrinsic reality value of the rest of you is any less.

It is just a slogan, get over it.

This thread is for discussing the matches in the OP.

ANYONE taking it to a LoI vs Other Soccer route from this point onwards will receive a red card and a 1 week ban.

I don't want to have to do this every time there is a LoI thread, but I will.

    june??

was thinkin about that, will it not just create a tunnel effect? theres nothing planned for the ends, is there?

sligo looking strong at the end of the game. they have a huge advantage with the wind. It will be backs against the wall for them in the second half

That's a good point, didn't think of it like that. AFAIK no, there is nothing planned for behind the goals in the near future.

Sligo nearly got lucky before the end there when the wind caught the inswinging corner. Home team much the better side in the first half I thought.

I'm unemployed so couldn't afford a season ticket.

I tried to get a ticket for the match using what little spare cash I do have and couldn't get one.

I'm very disappointed I'm not there.

not a bad game so far. rovers should be ahead by more and sligo only seemed settled about 10 mins before the break. great goal tho!

    new stadium looks alright too.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 470 ✭✭Craft25

not sure that first one should've been ruled out at all!! pity they couldnt give us a better side angle on the cameras!

I called it offside when I saw it forst time.

No better camera angle, because there's no where over that side to put another one.

Unlucky. Though as the season wears on and the initial demand drops a bit you should get to see plenty of games...

I did yeah, match discussion is supposed to be kept out of the team threads! :)

    Sligo Rovers have new defence
and are badly missing the 3 defenders from last season

    Colman gone
    Almeida and Butler(long term) out
not many teams in LOI could cope without those 3

shouda went to see Neville Staples:(:(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,798 ✭✭✭syngindub

great start for Rovers on their new patch. I believe the next home game is also a sellout. hope it continues and hope to get to a few games this year myself.

Game on it seems in Tallagh.
Have to compliment Rovers on their new stadium, looks fantastic. The stand looks like it is much larger alone than the capacity 3500 the ground currently holds.

This is great. It's important for Rovers, and maybe more important for Tallaght.

I was actually supporting Rovers* tonight. Good win in their new home.
Nice win for Shels, they stuggled there before, "watched" the game on livescore, it was 90th minute before they updated to 1-0. A loss for fingal too! Fantastic!

*that's Sligo Rovers, it'll be a cold day in hell before I cheer on the scum! (Unless it's in europe)

    drogs 0-0 bray

drogs were fantastic in the first half but just couldnt do anything in the final third. played some wonderful football tho. in the second half both sides were pretty poor, tho we really shouldve scored but joxer made a balls of a one on one

    my curse of draws continues

i havent seen a league match here or in england not finish in a draw since september of last year

Top of the league on our own, have to beat Bray next week though to make this start really count I think.

I heard they're playing decent stuff, they just have no one that will finish it off. Like Arsenal when they lose. (Only drogs are technically better)
Expect a few low scoring games

Good win for Galway, Shels getting a win in Monaghan, looked like it was another close game for them up there. Pats winning away to Cork.. Fingal loosing.. all that money still needs to gel..

Hopefully Longford get a draw at least in Summery Ballybofey.. 4 hour drive could be on the cards...
