Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,

I have been told that I have to start chasing the walls.

Does anyone have any advice or any links to DIY sites as I cannot find any information on this area.

    Thanks

    Go to Aldi.
Buy a wall chaser for 69.99.
Or you can offer money for my unloved and much more expensive one which no longer gets used thanks to aforementioned aldi one.

It is a dirty job and awkard if you are not used to it . I don't know what part of the country you are in but here in Cork we hire a gang that specialise in chasing , three of them are normally in and out in 3-5 hours depending on the size of the house. I pay them , becuase they have done in 1/4 of the time it would take me & I don't have to get destroyed on dust & bits of concrete block

I did mine a couple of months back. It took about 10 hours over 2 days. I was worn out after it. It was the dirtiest and messiest job I ever did, but was glad I was able to do it myself and save money. Hired the chaser for €25 for the weekend. Figured why buy something I don't need for €70 when I can hire it for €25. Make sure you get a good vaccum system to suck out the dust while you are chasing. A good dust mask and goggles are imperative.

Get a pair of safety glasses, a pack of good dust masks and some ear plugs. If you use a set of ear defenders the head will melt off you.

I chased my housed with a angle grinder with a diamond blade and a small dewalt kango.

It took a good few hours to do it, but its not that bad of a job !

    Hi

I started out doing it myself and soon give up. I found it a nightmare, the biggest problem was dealing with the dust. The goggles kept steaming up and I was chasing blind.

I ended up getting in someone for €450 to do approx 100 chases.

Try to make your savings elsewhere the chasing will break you

If you wipe the goggles with a small bit of washing up liquid it will prevent fogging !

Get a specialist in, this is a dirty thankless job. Did my whole house and not really worth it when you balance out time spent
