Anyone want to divulge why the Ultras Forum is down. No display last Friday either....

As I said in the Predictions thread, they're having a hissy-fit because the Board are coming down on them with regards to the use of flares afaik. Only club in Ireland that seemed to get away with it with regards to the FAI not giving a f*ck if they were used at Tallaght.

The one and only mypost setup a forum that supposedly people are going to, I'm not a member and I don't have the link or anything for it though.

The closure of the members' forum was indicative of the spat, there needs to be an independent forum.

I feel privileged that I wasn't invited, again ;), to a forum set up by mypost!

    Can Rovers play 2-7-1?

    Chambers-Robinson-Rice-McCormack-Ryan-Finn-Quigley

    Still one upfront of course.

No way Chambers/Mc Cormack/Ryan can play in Crolys 433

Has to be one of those with Finn and Rice/Robinson just ahead, mental signing unless he is signed as number 1 "Quarterback/Crab".

Id say Ricer will get the chop.

Chambers, Finn and Ryan will start id say. Quigley was apparently trying to be offloaded so not sure.

There is that or someone may be on his way on the magical plane.... :o

Croly clearly doesn't see McCormack as a midfielder.

Chambers Finn and Quigley can't play in the same side. Finn/Ryan and Quigley with Zayed/Sheppard upfront is worth a try. But he just won't drop Chambers or even rest him.

The one time he took him off early for McCormack, UCD equalised, so that's scared him off forever..

Probably just as well it's down. It would self-combust after tonight. :(

There surely has to be more than meets the eye with the problems at Rovers.

Pretty obvious now that Ryan signed for money and not ambition!

Not much more to it tbh. He build the majority of this side. The players he inherited were the likes of Finn, McCabe, Rice, Sullivan and Billy D. He signed the rest.

Croly is just a terrible manager. Anyone else would have won the league.

Having the likes of Sean O Connor in your team cannot be good for morale.

Rash challenge tonight, got a red, gave the finger to the Pats fans.

Sullivan is enough to knock your morale, both in the time is not ideal.

Don't know much about Sullivan but O'Connor is certainly a very nasty individual.

Nothing wrong with a lot of the squad, perhaps aside from Sullivan, Robinson and McCabe. Foran is an excellent centre-half, McGuinness is good, he has Powell playing ok, he doesn't have a mental keeper which MON also had in the Jamaican guy..

How he has used them or more to the point, how he has not used them when change is required, huge questions have to be asked. Inside out wingers, Chambers, Rice being an attacking midfielder, McCormack at right back, like-for-like subs..

He didnt sign most of that squad, your chairman did. Croly wanted our players 8 of them or so and got 3.

Used to like Croly, easily best coach in the country done well for us playing and coaching. But clearly not a manager and dont see him being a manager eslewhere after this.

Enda Stevens starts tonight for Notts County against Liverpool.

First game after starting a loan move from Villa.

i think lambert froze him out after the injury. Wasnt even training with the first team.

bad form because he played very well in the opening games last season.

I think his showing during that time they were getting thumped every week finished off his Villa stint. He was ok, but made some glaring mistakes - just not quite ready for regular EPL action. Yet.

FENLON CONFIRMED AS NEW ROVERS BOSS

Shamrock Rovers have this morning appointed Pat Fenlon as the club's new manager.

The former Hoops player takes over at the club immediately and will take training for the first time this afternoon.

And Fenlon - who previously managed Shelbourne, Bohemians, Derry City and Hibernian - will manage Shamrock Rovers for the first time in Friday night's SSE Airtricity League game against Derry City at Tallaght Stadium.

Commenting on the appointment, Shamrock Rovers chairman, Jonathan Roche said: "I would like to welcome Pat Fenlon to Shamrock Rovers as the club’s new manager. There are just three points between us and third place going into the last round of fixtures, and we have a big game coming up against Derry City on Friday night. So it was very important that we moved quickly to put a manager in place to make sure that he has the chance to hit the ground running. European qualification is extremely important to the club and so we need to keep the pressure on in that regard.

“Pat is the right person for the job at this time and so there was no need for delay. Pat has considerable experience at this level and comes into a club that is building good football structures and has a good squad of players. It has been a disappointing couple of weeks for everyone involved, but we need to move on quickly. Everyone at the club needs to pull together now and battle for every point for the remainder of the season."

New Shamrock Rovers manager, Pat Fenlon said: “I am delighted to be taking over as manager of Shamrock Rovers and am very much looking forward to getting to work at the club. The team is in a good position, and so we’ll be looking to push on and build on that. I am familiar with the team having seen them numerous times this season and so we will get to work straight away. I’m looking forward to the game against Derry City on Friday night. Hopefully there will be a big crowd and we will work hard to get a result from the game and start on a positive note.”
