Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. I'm dreading this weekend. If Newcastle lose to Hull, we're going down, its that simple. If we win, I think we will just about survive.

    Saturday, 14 March 2009

    Arsenal v Blackburn, 15:00 Draw please (1-1)
Big Sam is doing well at blackburn and plays the type of football that Arsenal dont like so im hoping he can limit Arsenal to one point here even though they seem to be scoring again so score draw please

    Bolton v Fulham, 15:00 Draw
    Everton v Stoke, 15:00 Home
    Hull v Newcastle, 15:00 Draw

Man Utd v Liverpool, 12:45 Draw
I expect United to win the league with relative ease but with Rafa openly saying he thinks if they dont get something here the league is over i expect a big performance and them to get a point, United are too good however for me to see a Liverpool win.

    Middlesbrough v Portsmouth, 15:00 Home
    Sunderland v Wigan, 15:00 Draw

    Sunday, 15 March 2009

Aston Villa v Tottenham, 16:00 Home
Spurs are the premierships Jekyll and Hyde side and after a well needed break in Dubai I think Villa can get their CL challenge back on track here

Chelsea v Man City, 13:30 Home
Chelsea seem to be back on track under hiddink and although City have impressed away from home they have dissapointed and I'd say Stamford brigde will be too tough a test for them atm

    Monday, 16 March 2009
West Ham v West Brom, 20:00 Home
West Ham are on form atm and West Brom cant defend i cant see anything but 3 points for the hammers at Upton park this monday.

No away wins for me this weekend

I fancy Blackburn get a long awaited win over Arsenal this weekend. Our team is confident and only two sides have beaten us since Big Sam took over and one of them was lucky(United) while the other Aston Villa did outplay us in the midst of that impressive away run of form that they had. We drew with Everton and have beaten Hull and Fulham either side of that game, three good performances. Arsenal are coming off the back of a tough game midweek, we have what we never had before against Arsenal and thats a bit of pace at the back from Givet and a midfield thats performing well. Of course Arsenal could spank us as has happened many times in recent seasons but I just have a feeling we are going to pull off a bit of a shock tomorrow.

I expect Villa to beat Harry Redknapp, its too much to think otherwise that our season will really have gone to pot with that smug geezer presiding over it.

Surely Spurs fans will be willing Villa to victory and keep us in 4th?

    what was the goal like???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,213 ✭✭✭✭therecklessone

Disgusting "tackle" from Diouf on Almunia there, should have been red.

    Such a dislikeable person...

    what was the goal like???

Low cross from Walcott to the near post. It was bundled in by Arshavin, looked like it took a deflection.

    +1

Completely unnecessary lucky boy to only get a yellow.

Blackburn have looked pretty "vigorous" in the tackle so far.

Could see Arsenal getting a second before half-time, Blackburn have offered very little in the way of a goal threat

Bendtner having a decent game so far

How he only got a yellow is beyond me

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Arshavin having some lovely touches for Arsenal

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Everton already in control 2 up.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

Nasri cracks one accross the bar from a free-kick a good way out and ten sec later forces Robinson into a save from a half-volley

Really a clash of philosopies on show here Arsenal all about the possession and passing while Blackburn all about the tough tackling direct get it into the box and hope to get something from that.

Blackburn on 3 yellow after 35 and one of those whould have been a red.

That was a lovely free kick.

Is it me or are there a lot of empty seats at the Emirates?

Does seem to be a fair few esp higher up all right - although not as many as were at Old Trafford around the 85 minute mark earlier :p

Argy bargy with Alumia and Diouf at a corner:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Could easily have been two yellows there on another occasion

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,169 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

Rubbish stuff again, only this time they actually managed to score. Otherwise it's been the exact same as all those 0-0 games.

Tickets for the cup match against hull went on general sale this week, which is pretty rare for an Arsenal match

Think I might have put the mockers on him. Very poor effort there.

Arshavin like Kanu against Chelsea. 2-0

Diouf is a disgusting footballer. That was a horrible tackle and a definite red.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

AGGGGHHHH Bendtner missing an utter hatful of chances - could easily have had a hat-trick

Arshavin with an utter beauty of a goal, helped by a pretty poor effort by Robinson in goals - really looked like a class player today, even in spite of having to get stitches at half time

    Game over you would imagine

    Awesome from Arshavin!

I've seen a few goals he's scored in the past where he's blasted it into the roof sort like that, but not quite as tight an angle.

Ugh we're only hanging on against Stoke here, hopefully Saha can nick a cushion too.

Who's that commentator on the Blackburn/Arsenal game, I hear people constantly harping on about every gaff Jimmy Magee makes in commentary, the guy commentating on this game just said that we are gonna play Tottenham at the Rebook.

And El Hadj Diouf is underrated as a footballer, class act. Does do some stupid things but a top top footballer.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

Bendtner after a lovely move blazes over

Walcott offv for Diaby - very decent game by Walcott

    Bendtner off for Vela

No idea on commentator Martin something maybe?

Co-commentator might actually be Brian Little

    3-0 Eboue

Arsenal with Liverpool, Man Utd, and Chelsea to play could have a big impact on how the final standings end up

Interesting series of results, have pretty much split the table into a top 10 and bottm 10. Wigan and Fulham now on 38 and 37pts respectively, 4 clear of Bolton in 11th. who are dragged back into the relegation scrap.

Big point for Boro, but they are still in deep deep trouble.

Hull might just have done enough to arrest their slide.

Great results for Spurs, even if we get nothing at Villa Park tomorrow.
