My drummer, a really really good friend of mine, has decided to leave our band after two years, looking to do some even heavier stuff than what me and the guitarist / vocalist are doing. :(

Anyone know of any drummers in Maynooth who'd cite alternative / garage / postpunk as their genre? Our major sonic influences are probably Queens of the Stone Age, The Smiths, The Jam, The Arctic Monkeys, etc.

    :(

    My heating just stopped working!

The reset button on the boiler didn't fix it.

    This is not my day!

I've just finished a recording of the composition assignment I've to hand in tomorrow, would anyone like a listen?

    :)

Cool chords, needs a tighter mix though more compression and cowbell etc.
Also the guitar doesn't seem to fit, like the use of delay at the end though. Pretty sweet. Still a cool track!

It's super rough, there's only compression on the vocals and bass. I didn't bother too much with the production side of it, I just wanted a recording so I could demonstrate the Pure Data synth patch, analogue delay bending and glitchy guitar business.

Which guitar bit doesn't fit do you reckon?

Those effects were done with PD? Cool!
I just meant it kinda comes out from nowhere,
although it does seem to fit after a while as the harmony and everything is grand.
Just maybe the tone seems a bit sharp or fuzzy, can't make up my mind on it.
Just doesn't feel right to me, anyway each to their own!

Heh, I wish! The sawtooth synthesiser with the little portamento and delay was done in Pd.

Thanks for the feedback (lol) Ben!

How'd that one go for you actually? I think I answered about a fifth of the paper adequately :o

What a weird coincidence...I got an offer to give grinds in Blanch too...And I think a bus goes from Liffey Valley if memory serves

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 912 ✭✭✭Norrdeth

That's the 239 I think, but doesn't pass through Maynooth, only Lucan.

I'd say the best idea would be to get a train from maynooth to castleknock on the western suburban line and go from there. That's all I can think of TBH (I don't take many trains =P)

It took me a crazy amount of time to finish question one and about 6 attempts. No idea how to solve a D^3 equation without simple trial and error.

Q3 started off fine... then went a wee bit down-hill. Got the oddest looking integral to work out... But meh! It's DONE!!!

I always get the train to Clonsilla, then just outside the train station is a bus stop (think it's the 39) which brings you to Blanch (and Centre).
