Is Electric Picnic not a knackerfest now? Damn knackers ruin everything! Buses, bus stops, town, trains, ghettos. Everything!!

Dunno, definitely less knackers there than at other festivals.

If you want no knackers, go to any scandinavian country, it's amazing.

Supposedly this is the website for the new LA mantra. Check out the gallery, it's like something out of GTA: Vice City :D

Garden Bar means smokefest, boo. Also, stupid time to open, when all the students aren't around.

How does it mean smoke fest? Does it not mean that the inside is garden themed?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,195 ✭✭✭✭Michellenman

No, I'm pretty sure it means you can bring out with you while you smoke. Much like in the Roost. However, You could be right and then we'd all look stupid by drinking while surrounded by potted plants :P

Looks garden themed on the website!

Cant move. Too sunburnt. On the plus side I did get into the zoo for free yesterday :D

On another note, can anyone calculate how far it is from the zoo to liffey street? (LeixlipRed and other maths heads I'm looking at ye :P)

I not know geography :D Played a match tonight in what can be described as oppresive heat. I love weather but sport + sun = ick

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,960 ✭✭✭allandanyways

Useless :P I could just google it but I thought someone might be able to do it for me... :pac:

I'm no good at working out X yards or kilometres or whatever. Mam reckons about 5 miles but she's as clueless as me. Anywho. According to my sidebar thingy its 19 degrees in Leixlip this hour... Probably the same in Celbridge. Too hot to sleep. Too hot to do anything whilst awake. Except ramble on boards apparently.

    Edit: Did ye win?
    Edit #2: 3.6 Kilometres. Gracias a Google Maps :D

TV has been absolute gold tonight, Paul Williams investigates the Corrib gasline was the best laugh I've got from him in a long, long time. The man is living on another planet. There's a reason he's stuck in the 'Tubridy School of Journalism/Media' down there at the Sunday World, I'm sure he thinks Sinn Fein make it rain to be honest. If a broadsheet ever give him a job I'll emigrate.

If its true that RTE is actually going bankrupt, great! Because sh/te like this on TV3 is so much more enjoyable than anything on RTE.

in other news: got up at 5pm, brilliant.

    Can't sleep, again. FFFFFFFFFUUUUUU!!!

*probably directly connected to getting up at 5pm, Doh.

cringetastic, friend just mailed me this.

One floppy haired young lad in America with a loudspeaker interrupts people eating at a fast-food restaurant, driving to work, or just making a living to feed them his conspiracy bullsh/t about how America attacked itself.

    Epic kid.

I bet you he got his "evidence" from a completely unbiased youtube video. ;)

See The Onion is lols, and produce a very funny paper and sometimes quite convincing stuff (in terms of visuals) to the above- but that kind is 100% for serious. It's actually kind of worrying. I once seen a 9/11 Truth sticker up in the Arts toilets in Maynooth and all, imagine.

    I'm getting political-nerd feelings now, I <3 elections.

I'll go down and 'none of the above'/ spoil the thing (Thats actually an option in some countries, wish it was here too, would be interesting to see how 'none of the above' did) t, but the Joe Higgins issue is a tricky one. Don't know what to do there. I think the oppotunity to see Eoin Ryan lose his seat to 'Average Joe' is too good. You can oppose the representative system and still want to see Eoin Ryan cry on telly.

Watching the election up around Maynooth with a lot of interest too, and the Europeans up there are shaping up to be interesting. Think Nessa will do really well for the Labour lot. Time'll tell.

    My nerdy predictions are:

    Gay Mitchell
    P. De Rossa
Mary Lou McDonald (to edge out Joe)

    Dublin South:
George Lee to walk it, Alex White second by a good bit

    Dublin Central:
Christy Burke (SF) to top poll but still lose out on transfers, Bacik maybe the friendlist option.More win for Labour.

    Overall:
FF Down bigtime in Dublin, little nationally.
    FG Shoot up
    Labour the big winners.
SF stay the same (Not bad, seeing as they outperformed themselves big time last time around)
    GP completely fuc/ed
Socialist Party will get Joe,Mick,Ruth and Clare in Dublin on councils, keep the lad in Cork, and do great in the MEP race
    Inds do well
Nutjob parties (Immigration Control Platform etc.) no better than ever.

A Higgins win in Dublin will actually shake things up in a big way, and is not impossible. They've done the groundwork.

    Geektalkover.

Go down and either vote your favourite candidates/spoil it/ do whatever you want. Just make for a good Prime Time special umkay?

The point of the above rambling is that you all go to Paddy Power and win money. Three cheers if Libertas come away with f/uck all too :pac:
