    I was wondering if someone knew of a good tv card that will pick up my Satillite box at home. I have a tv card but after much searching I found out that it is not compatible with my Sat. I have a Sky + box at home and would love to keep some of the shows I have recorded.

    Please help.

    Any video card that has an input will do. You will also need software to capture that input and convert it into a video file. You dont necessarily need a TV tuner card.

    The programmes themselves are stored encrypted on the Sky+ box, so you will need to play them from that in realtime and record them to your PC all over again.

    Its not a great solution for your situation.

    Im sure its possible to take the internal disk from the Sky+ box and hook it up to your PC directly and use other software to decrypt the files of the programmes but thats not for the faint hearted. More than that its probably warranty voiding and possibly illegal. :(
