How much do you download per month on average?

Personally I reckon I'd download approximately 20-30GB per month. Also, does anyone know of any way to find out exactly how much you have up/downloaded in the last month/week/etc.?

(Note: I don't care what you download, or where from, just curious of the amount itself).

About 40gb I think. Used to be quite a bit more.

Rapidshare's 2.6gb a day limit annoys the hell out of me, because when I'm in the mood to download I want about 30gb.

Your ISP should have a webpage that will tell you your usage. Give them a ring or drop them an email.
Don't download as much as I used to, I'd say it'd be about 20GBs a month or so.

With my crappy 3 broadband, the minute I go over 10 gigs a month then they charge me 5c every megabyte
Its not entirely unknown for me to overspend by like 60 euro a month! :(

I have the O2 mobile at the moment so limited to 10gb but i use more. usually take the laptop into work and leave it there for a day or two every few weeks and just download everything i need. Could use 70gb+ of works broadband each month.

    I'd say between 30-40GB monthly.
Don;t know about ISPs, but if you log into your eircom account they show you your up and down stats, not the the up will be much at their speeds.

we got a letter saying we downloaded 230gig one month.. back then, we were on a 30 gig cap. some quick maths at the time worked out it was over 15k in penalties if they had tried to charge us per megabyte over our limit.

I wouldn't really download much to be honest. I'd say 1GB a month at the most.

People download a lot! I would say I download 40GB a month, and that's only because I don't have a telly here, so I'll download a movie (completely legally) instead. How do you people download that much?

We have a data limit of 10GB (that's uploads and downloads) and we watch it like a hawk. We get charged a good bit for going over. We usually are almost exactly on 10GB every month.

    Broadband here is expensive :(

I download a lot, but I really don't think it could be as high as the average of 20-30 GB you people are claiming...

In a month, I might download 4 or 5 movies @ ~700MB each, 4 or 5 albums at ~100MB, and hell even a TV series which might be like 6 GB, and still that's only 10 GB....

What is it you people download that's so big?

People who are new to broadband will download whatever the hell they can without always finding the time to listen to all those mp3s or watch all those movies, just because they can.
I suppose some do find the time to watch a movie per day though?

A DVD or Bluray movie can be up to 8Gb in size so it doesn't take long to got to 20Gb per month.

Pretty much my case. I'm sure the novelty of downloading will wear off soon though.

Pretty much my case. I'm sure the novelty of downloading will wear off soon though.

When I moved to France in 1998 and got myself a sweet 512kb connection it was the first time I saw broadband outside of college and I downloaded EVERYTHING as though my life depended on it.

Now I've got a 100Mb fibre link but since I get unlimited cinema access for €19 per month and sites like deezer.com and spotify.com offer my free streaming music I don't bother downloading stuff that I'll never get around to enjoying.

    About 100GB a month.
My housemate (he own's the house) was bitching about it saying the isp were going to charge hom for it. I told him not to worry as they only monitor exchanges but he continued bitching over it.
Then he found out I had a rapidshare account and I also had a site for HD movies.
Now he's fcuking raping my rapidshare account and downloading at least 200GB a month..not so fcuking preachy now :pac:
