    Magnet 50mb Broadband what wireless router should i get


    The connections on the wall are straight ethernet ports some so just need a router not a router/modem


    The speed i have is 50mb so reckon a wireless N router is needed my m1530 has the N wireless card built in so it can handle it


    So basically recommend i router thats good value like 60-70euro that will do the job it will just be used for downloading etc. no real fancy networking stuff

    what does your pc/laptop support?

    wireless-n is useless if your rig doesn't support it..you'll still only get a/b/g based on what your machine can support.

    Aside from that your broadband connection will probably never saturate your LAN, wired or wireless. If you're going to go for 802.11n make sure your wireless card supports it before spending money on it.

    my dell m1530 has an N card built in as mentioned in the first post and therefore is draft N ready

    Just goes to show I should read things more carefully :o

    I've got a personal preference for Linksys equipment myself because it has served me well before although I haven't tried any of their 802.11n kit yet. Perhaps something like this will fit your needs though
