Hi all, putting on a Surfish Show in Fred Zeppelins this Friday!!
Should be a great way to start the weekend!!

    BeastmenPoster2.jpg

Prior to shows around Ireland, Cork's Beastmen host an evening of riff-filled, reverb-soaked entertainment in the PROC! Beastmen are a 5-piece surf-punk band, and you can check them out here:

They play a mixture of surf, electronica, heavy rock, circus music and mariachi sounds - completely instrumental, though with the occasional use of vocoder, yelps and screams. Imagine Dick Dale getting into a knife fight with Mogwai at a Therapy? gig, before The Human League break it up with Rottweilers and baseball bats - all to what seems like a George A Romero movie soundtrack and you're in the right area... almost.

Dublin's garage-surf kings Mighty Atomics are coming down to Cork for the first time! Mighty Atomics are a group of young men carefully assembled in a Secret Underground Compound to strip music down to its bare bones and go bat-**** crazy with howling electric guitar, shout out loud singing, thundering bass and holy-god-he's-mad-crashing drums. And you can check them out here:

Also on this head-meltingly super bill are Cork's Hey Maker! Hey Maker are a newly-reformed five piece, spawned from different bands throughout Munster. They play a unique style which is difficult to box into a genre, but have been accused of being alternative, rock, indie, and blues among many other things. One thing they definitely are is awesome. Check out their page here:

( Apologies, I know i"ve posted this on the Gigs thread too, but there's not much happening there TBH!)

    Cheers
