Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone can enlighten me as to how much a basic landscaping plan should cost? Its solely for planning purposes and will refer only to the site boundaries with no consideration, plan or design for the garden. The site is .88 acre, in a very rural setting and has two existing hedge boundaries which will remain as they are so there shouldn't be too much work in it, should there? I've been quoted €150 which I think is a bit steep for what seems to me to be such a small amount of work. Am I being naive ?.....once again

    Many thanks in advance,

    BB

€150 is the normal. However, if you flinch at paying visit a few garden centres and talk to any of the horticulturalists there about providing the actual plant species they indicate on the plans, get a cost for those and you will most likely get the landscaping scheme free, or the cost thereof will be redeamable off the plants. Clients of mine have worked it both ways in the past.

I agree with Poor Uncle Tom. Check with your Local Authority that they will accept a plan from a gardening centre. Some will and some requests a fully qualified Landscape Architect (why i don't know). If they accept the garden centre, that is the way to go.

    Hi Guys,

thanks for the good advice. I would've never have thought of checking out a garden centre (or google for that matter) for a plan so will check them both out and see how I get on and even if the LA requires me to use a landscape architect as least I now know I'm not begin charged over the going rate ...well done guys....yet another satisfied poster!

    Cheers :)
