Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Would anyone be interested in a Renault 9 GTL? I know!! A mate of mine is selling. It's been in storage for a long time and is in excellent condition with no rust.
Not sure of the year but I think it's early to mid 80s.
    Open to reasonable offers

I'd love a 9 Louisianne. Green on top and silver on the bottom :D

    Hi all,
I would also like to see some pics of the 9.
Some Trivia: Green was the most common colour for the 9 Louisianne. However the red metallic limited edition 9 Louisianne was a little bit more attractive. Rare colour in IRL / UK. Beige interior really did look class. Alas the tinworm!

    Hi Carchaeologist,
Yup! You are correct indeed I did go walkabout for a while. However plenty of Renault Trivia left in the old brain yet and I will be around for a while.

Top 20 items to watch for when buying an R9
    Engine:
Waterpump (bearing faulire caused by over tight alternator belt).
    Crankshaft (front) oil seal.
Leaky rocker cover studs (overtightening causes cover to buckle).
    Cross threaded sparkplug.

    Gearbox:
Gear selector main oil seal drip.
Clutch fork stretches ( appears t be "on the floor" before you can change gear).
Diff bearings (rare but easily tested for while in reverse - listen for deep growl).
Stuck speedo cable in box. (occasional drop of oil prevents it).
    Inner l/h drive gaitor.

    Electrical:
Main light switch cluster( Dip beam contacts fail).
Heater fan rheostat (failure of low /mid speeds).
Starter (oil contamination from - you guessed it the rockercover!).

Body / Chassis / Brake system:
Drivers seat subframe cage ( light material).
    Hearter matrix (wrong coolant used).
Rad fan s/w due to location (water ingress to relay).
Rear axle bushes( lack of lubrication to carrier bearings - modification possible).
Master cylinder failure ( RHD models suffered because of location of unit against manifold).
Rear brake shoe premature wear (Auto adjucters faulty).
Steering rack axial arms L/H side mostly.
Door (front) hinge pins (Earlier doors did not have collets to replace, complete hinges has to be fitted).

MAybe a thread dealing with this type of stuff would be handy to folks?
