as far as i know, a large percentage of males with down syndrome are sterile. I think fertility rates in women are the usual. I don't know about if the child would have down syndrome though, i think theres a higher chance. from reading a few articles, a lot of women with down syndrome choose not to try to have a child regardless.

Fertility is reduced in both Males and Females but males with Downs are extremely unlikely to father a child there are very few documented cases. If a girl with Downs becomes pregnant ( also a much reduced chance ) there is a 50-50 chance that the child would also have Downs.

I was wondering that too... their cells all contain an extra chromosome. I don't know about their sex cells though.
People with Downs are blessed with affectionate natures. I don't think someone sleeping with this lad as a favour would do him any good emotionally. Chances are, he'd think it was love..then his heart would be broken when he didn't hear from the girl again. Very sad..his mam prob has the best of intentions, but he needs to be in a social group for people like himself so he'd have a chance of meeting someone with similar needs.
