Something that annoyed me last night, even though I know it happens a lot in soapland, :pac: was Bob talking to Ashley on the phone, and Brenda was able to walk in behind him, and hear every word.

Why would you not even try to find somewhere private to make a call, or stand facing the room, so that you could quickly change the subject if someone walked in.

But he has form for cheating so I think its realistic enough, I always found he quite annoying but then love him when he is with Aaron and defending/protecting him.

I'm not a Paddy fan, and to be honest, find him and Marlon together, or apart, a bit annoying. I agree, I like the way Paddy looks out for Aaron.

Something about that affair just doesn't ring true, with me, and I don't even know why.

I find the notion of Paddy being a Romeo farcical . He is not in any way good looking has zero charisma and balding. It just doesn't work at all as a believable storyline.

Who said he had to be good looking for someone to like him? He is rather charismatic in fairness, in his awkward kind of way. Anyone he has been with, they seem to always have good chemistry. More unbelievable Debbie has men falling at her feet with her dull, moany attitude/personality. Besides your one clearly has a screw loose, hence her obsession with him.

I find the Paddy thing a bit annoying. He's punching way above his weight with Rhona to begin with. She adores him (before this week) but instead of reciprocating her love, on one night out he defies the laws of physics and has a shag in the back seat of a small hatchback with Tess and now she is falling at his feet.

I found 74-year old Patrick Mower with his bootlace around his neck as an Escort (old banger more like) hard to swallow but Paddy as the village Lothario is pushing it a bit.

    Rhona is prettier! ;)

I thought it was really sad when he said to Bob, something like 'I want to be me, for as long as possible'. He is brilliant, really credible. Poor Ashley.

Ross was in Ireland? I dont even remember him saying anything about going to Ireland?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,934 ✭✭✭✭fin12

That was very sad in the waiting room when the man was screaming and shouting wanting to go home and saying that that wasn't his son, must have been very hard for Ashley watching that. My grandmother has Alzheimers, doesn't know any of us, put last week my dad was visiting her and she called my dad by his proper name in Ages, he was really surprised, my dad's name is David, and she said to him Your David, it was really amazing, she had been calling him Timmy for years.

Why do the writers think Ireland is a place for criminals and lo we life's to hide out in?

Most of the time Ireland is mentioned it's to do with the Dingles and they have relatives living in here so it makes sense when one of them needs to lay low for a bit that they'd make their way over.

To be fair to the Emmerdale writers didn't the last Irish actor they had on the show get arrested for running a Marijuna farm there a few years ago in real life? And not to mention our biggest TV export ever is Love/Hate and more recently Red Rock has been getting a lot of attention in the UK... Hardly painting a great picture for ourselves really...

Anyway, this Country is full of criminals and low lives - most of them make up the Irish government. :D

Gotta say Emmerdale does a great job at keeping me on my toes - didn't see Jai running Megan over coming at all.

In the same week 2 pregnant women got knocked down in the soaps. I wonder if that's in the ITV plot recipe book after explosions and fires.

ruining Ross the violent, no morals thug......hmmmm ironic that! the fact he talks to a little girl and is good looking doesn't excuse his horrible crimes!! they deserve each other!!

Because it's just unbelievable that someone who is neither physically attractive nor charismatic ( he's a bit of a wet blanket TBH) not interesting would be such a lady magnet. There is nothing and I mean nothing that makes his status as the village Romeo believable. Even in other soaps when the Romeo is as ugly as a cat they usually have some characteristic like being a bad boy or whatever so your mind can kinda make the connection as to why women are attracted to them. Paddy is like shrek only not even as interesting.

i wouldn't consider him a lady magnet at all.The women he has been with arent super models if beauty is one of the main attractions. Rhona is very pretty but they have good chemistry and connection and a lot in common also.

Re this new squeeze, she seems to be unhinged somewhat and has very little charisma or likeability herself so it is very possible she would hop on the closest man. The fact she done that after meeting Paddy a few hours previously would suggest she was rather desperate.I have always found Paddy a sound sort. His relationship with Aaron being an example.

the only relationship I didn't buy was him and Chas as they had little connection.

Also its fiction!! everyone in soaps is guaranteed a ride!! ha!

Actually him and Toni were a terrible match also!! But you could say that about lots of couples to be fair in soaps! Moira and Cain are a terrible couple!

No there's somewhat of a bump, if I had to guess she's about 5 months or so, so mini-bump, you could see it when Br-wendy copped she was preggers and again when Jai saw.

Yes, that always amused me. The Dingles always seemed to go to Ireland :D when they went away.
