Any way of boosting broadband reception?

    Just after moving house and have 3g mobile braodband was grand in the last place worked a treat, but have feck all reception in the new house, vodafone and 02 dont have much reception in the area either anyway of boosting the signal?? sorry if this has been covered already

    This is the wrong forum, you should have posted in the Midband forum instead.

    What about outside the House or with certain windows open ??

    Walls and other obstacles can defo affect the signal also you could be just in an area of bad coverage(out in the middle of no where or surrounded by mountains)

    You can buy antennas on eBay, but they'll cost you about 100 euro for any kind of decent one. Even then, it may not work for you. If the signal is just poor, then it could help, but if the signal is gone (which can happen as 3G cells expand and contract, depending on use), then all the amplifiers in the world won't help you.

    Have you thought about moving to another service? DSL or fixed wireless may be better for you in your new home.
