Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Porto.........

Someone up there must like us. ;)

Playing Home first is a disadvantage but.

Well, **** that. Awful draw - particularly with being home in the first leg again.:(

Playing Chelsea again is also just a tad boring.

    Balls.

    ManU/Porto/Arsenal/Villareal one side of draw

    Pool/Chels/Barcelon/Munich on the other

    Virtual perfection :D:D:D

You're rigged. I reckon your parents meant to have you. They planned it and then made it happen.

Anyway great draw for United. Liverpool Chelsea yet again should be fun. Don't think the Arse will have it all that easy against Villareal while Barca should be too good for Bayern.

Very pleased with that draw :)

someone up there loves watching liverpool chelsea games, cant see why tbh, the euro games are usually awful to watch.

Sweet, would have liked the second legs. Does this mean the Villa game will get moved?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

I am sick and tired of playing Chelsea. Really bored of this now.

Chelsea look good under Hiddink, I think it will be tough especially 2nd leg away from home.

How do united end up being so lucky in these draws! They are such a poxy team. Tough draw for us I think. But the jury is still out on Hiddinks Chelsea. Pity we are at home first.

glad at least the chelsea have the 2nd leg at home

The most fixed tournament I've ever seen. We all said in work before the draw, guaranteed Liverpool Chelsea. The good aul hot / cold balls again.

I've just been talking to a pool fan and its sad but neither of us could care anymore. He said all he had to say previously, I said all I had to say last year so now its just boring. Taken the fizz out of it for me.

    Gentlemen,

As ManU were drawn out in the first two fixtures, does that mean their first leg will be on the Tuesday?

Supposed to be going to the Villa game that weekend and it's up in the air as to whether it will be Saturday or Sunday.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 325 ✭✭lint316

Did anybody see Parry in the audience? He looked completely bored.
I think we couldnt have gotten a harder draw. Both of the second legs away are the big problem for us

Before the draw, I would have been delighted for United to get Arsenal, Porto and Villareal.

    Incredible draw tbh.

Excellent draw. We would have to seriously mess up to not get in the final.

    Bring on a Man U V Liverpool final ;)

    Liverpool Arsenal final

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

United were due a weaker team as they havent gotten one in a good few years.

Its should be Man Utd v Arsenal which will be a tough one to all as Fabregas, Rosicky will be back and Adebayor maybe scoring goals.

Pool v Chelsea will be a tough one to call as will Barca v Bayern. I think if Pool beat Chelsea they have an excellent chance of the final.

    Dream Final is:

    Man Utd v Liverpool

In Rome? Thats the final from hell.

Kind of surprised Chelsea are currently edging out Liverpool in the odds there, given Liverpool's performance in the CL and the fact that they've won the last two matched against Chelsea.

Don't get me wrong, I hope the bookies are right and Chelsea cruise through, but just thought it a little surprising....

Sorry, i was a bit ambiguous there, wasn't i??!!!! Just to clear up in case anyone is confused. When i said that i'm tired of playing Chelsea, i was referring to Liverpool FC, as opposed to playing Chelsea myself, one man against the team from Stamford Bridge
Hope that clears up any confusion and i really do sincerely apologise for any misunderstanding that may have arised from this most unfortunate of incidents.

you gotta be kiddin me, united regularly get the short end of the stick in draws

Just been sent this and not sure of the truth in it as I've not checked it out.

apparently the team that has knocked our Real Madrid for the past 6 years has gone out to the eventual winners.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

Is the April 15th problem for Liverpool avoided with that or what?

Awful draw all round. I was hoping United would get a tougher draw, and was hoping for Barca Arsenal, and Liverpool Villareal.

However, I think the semis will be

    Villareal Vs Man U
    Liverpool Vs Barca

With a Liverpool Man Utd final.

I'd say there is value on Porto at 55 / 1 tbh. Not that I think Porto are likely to win the competition of course, but it's more likely they stumble through from here than +5500.

Everyone always thinks that thei rivals have it easy.

It's a random drawing, it all evens out.

Utd didn't knock out Real last year.
