New UK mobile operator Lycamobile offers 4p per minute calls and 10p texts to Ireland

    I saw this new virtual network operator Lycamobile advertising in the Ryanair magazine. They seem to be offering great prices for international calls and texts from the UK. For example, 4p per minute landline calls (15p mobile) and 10p texts to many counties, including Ireland. Also free Lycamobile to Lycamobile calls (10p set up fee, 30 minute limit per call) and texts (100 per day limit) within the UK. Their UK call rates are good value too, 10/8p per min calls UK mobile/landline and 9p for UK texts.

    Might be good value for anyone who travels to the UK a lot, or has friends and family in UK or the north. Their sim cards are available in some UK newsagents for £5 with £5 call credit, get an additional £2 for registering on their web site: http://www.lycamobile.co.uk/ Top up in Sainsburys, Superdrug, Morrisons or at any UK PayPoint outlet.

    There are several - Globalcell, IDT Mobile, Lebara, Lyca, Nomi, Mobile World and Talkmobile from Carphone Warehouse, or cheap tariffs even on the main networks e.g 5p to Ireland landlines with Int'l add-on with O2. Talkmobile is on offer at 2p at the moment. Another possibility is T-mobile plus Yourcallworld callthrough, from 3p/min
