Zappers for electric gates & garage

House I'm moving into (Wexford) has electric gates and garage door. Previous owner left a few zappers but only one of them is for both the garage and the gate. Rang the place in Wexford who originally fitted the automation to the gates and the door and they can supply extra zappers at a cost of about €45 each but they will also charge €80 for the call out to program them!!

Is it easy to program them or should I leave it to the experts? Can buy zapper on net (http://www.remotecontrol-express.com/remote+GIBIDI+%3A+AU1600).

According to the link you posted the programming is easy so why not give it a shot.

Ive lived with electric gates for a long time and have had to get replacement zappers on occasion, when you open the existing zapper you will see a line of say 10 for example tiny switches, how these are set, ie on or off make the code,, if you get an identical zapper, match the switches and you should have an perfect copy.

I had a similar problem and I got a "learning" fob from ebay and it worked a treat......something like this:

Is this easy to program? Site I listed above stressed that you must generally replace a remote with an exact same model or it ownt work

Simple......select the button you want and press the button on the original and hey presto. Don't have this exact one, but something similar and couldn't be easier!
