Is it the Diesel Queen? She can often be found travelling along the main Cork to Dublin road? Has a tattoo on her left boob, I think, & isn't really partial to wearing a bra. Likes to wear skimpy clothes even though she shouldn't!

    the diesel queen:confused:

i'm afraid to ask, but why is she called that??

but what about that loopy woman thats around town...she's early 50s, plastered in make up, dark hair, high heels, black leather mini skirt and she's always making passes at men that walk past her ..sometimes lifting her skirt at them shouting..."look at me knickers"

this town sure has some characters...

Can't believe my Ma's still at that ...at her age too, happy death she should be praying fir

Ha anyone ever seen the guy who walks around town with his siberian wolf/husky kind of dog in a celtic jersey? i remember years ago he used to have 2 of them with him but in recent years ive only ever seen him with 1.

If its the guy who used to walk up and down the canal with the beautiful husky he's dead.

Terrible story, he fell near the maxol at baggot street bridge walking the dog. He was in a bad way and the paramedics couldn't get near him because the dog was protecting him. It wouldn't let anybody get close to him

Rather than call Dublin kennells or anybody the gards shot the dog. When he woke up in hospital and heard the news he was heartbroken, died a day or two later.

As far as I know she travels on the main Cork to Dublin road by hitchhiking with lorry drivers so she got the nickname Diesel Queen.
I know she's not a Queen but I don't know about her sucking diesel :D

Dont think its the same fellow. The one with the Celtic Huskeys is alive and well AFAIK. He is/was a schoolboy soccer referee, the cards were itching in his pockets. He used to line everybody up before a match and give his orders :D. Lives down off the Dorset Street area. Also used to have a car (Ford Escort) covered in Celtic logos.

Just seen a guy off Grafton Street - he looks like a cross between Marilyn Manson and Frankenstein. White painted face, thin build, spikes in his skin, leather trousers, elevated shoes, mid-30s, about 6' 10" in height (!), looks miserable. Seems to appear every few months and then he's gone. Usually sits by the Central Bank alone. What is the story with this guy?

    He's probably the Bank manager....

Bang on, haven't seen the car in years either (was it not an old ford orion or sierra though?). He lived on Witworth Avenue way back when he had the car. he was a sound fella too, I used to go fishing up at those locks and he'd always stop and have a chat with ya. :)

I'm not so sure about the story of him being dead though, ive never seen him over that side of the city even. :)

There's also the guy who sits outside coffee shops in the powercourt area (from Wicklow Street to Aungier Street) who always has a furry hat on and raver clothes. He's about 45. He's always alone and has a notepad with him.

I've heard he own the George's Arcade, but I don't really believe that as he seems to be mentally ill.

That'd be the singer from Star Little Thing then, Cricky Sea? Don't believe he's mentally ill (bad term btw)

He's far from mentally ill, just a little eccentric. I believe he's quite well off, which is probably why he's able to sit around all the time drinking coffee. He is in the music business as far as I'm aware. He was in a video for some dublin band not so long ago.

Yeah have seen him driving around in a Toyota Landcruiser, lives in Donnybrook I think (used to see him hanging around there) so probably not short of a few bob. He's always wearing that fuzzy hat though, even on the warmest of summer days!

That's Cricky. He's not mentally ill, just very eccentric. Dancer/financier in Grattan Smith's band Star Little Thing. Writing the next great Irish novel for as long as I've known him, which is at least 15 years now. The suede hat and waistcoat that he wears were specially designed for him by the Irish-Iranian designer Ali Malek. Very wealthy guy, owns lots of property in Kilmainhan and other places from before the property boom.

The George's Street Arcade is owned by Joe Leyden. He also owns the Epicurean Hall on Lower Liffey Street.

Hold on a second, i think we are getting our oddballs mixed up....because there's a guy that hangs around angiuer st/ georges st area who definiltly is mentally ill...he's got a pale face, scraggy long hair wears a woolly hat and a long dark jacket (in all weathers) and he stands for hours on end staring into space.

anyone know who i am on about??

That reminds me of a video I was made watch once on the internt involving 'guerilla facials'. Not sure if it was real or not but I found it funny!

The UCD hobo? I have seen him venturing around the area, not sure how far he wanders. Do people know him? Long disshevelled white hair, unshaven and wears a long grey coat. Been around for years

Anybody seen the mad homeless woman with crazy half orange, half grey hair? I usually spot her on Dame street, sometimes asleep at central bank

    OK folks.

This is a last and final warning to please refrain from using terms like "crazy, nutter, odball" and other such words when talking about the people who make this great city what it is.

There was already a Moderator Warning in the thread, and we added a part to the charter recently.

Some people are skating on very thin ice as regards to breaking the charter and are running the risk of infractions or even bannings.

We don't want to close threads, we don't want to infract people and we certainly don't want to ban people.

    So please.

Use friendlier language when talking about the people of our Fair City.

I'll just re-iterate what I said in an earlier thread also.

Do not, under any circumstance, post photographs of people without their prior permission. This especially applies to photographs which are not already in the public domain.

I hope this is crystal clear to everyone.

Any problems with this and you can PM any of the moderators.

    Thank you,

The Dublin City Forum Moderator Team

And has anyone seen him with his fella? The only characteristic I've seen of him is that he wears a bin liner for a skirt.

Ah! Crazy Cat Lady? She's one of my favourite junkies.

EDIT 2: Also that young wan around Temple Bar and Grafton Street who says that her fella battered her/impregnated her. She's a bag of laughs. She was three months pregnant for about two and a half years now.
