what documentation do I need to buy a calf at the mart?

    What's the procedure for buying a calf at the mart? It would be my first calf so won't have a herd number.

    I think that you will probably need a herd number before you can buy a calf. Open to correction.

    KFK is right. You need to apply for a herd number before you can buy a calf in the mart.
