Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What's your dream shoot?

People always seem to be afraid to share their specific long term goals, especially when it comes to shoots. "Don't put it out there!" seems to be the train of thought, as if someone will steal it or do it better or something. I don't get it. Lets be brave, talk about idea's that we have had and are kicking around for the day we can ever afford to do it.

I would absolutely love to do the following. Basically get a big warehouse. Right in the center a great big mirror, say 25 to 30 feet square. In the center of the mirror a large crate. I have my model in the crate and i am suspended over it, dead center. No reflexion of me and every shot i take reflects the mirror so it looks like the great is floating in the rafters.

Now that would be a bit of fun.

Anybody else got any silly scale stuff you will most likely never get to do?

I'm working on one at the moment that involves a mirror too. A mirror, a step-ladder, some streets and random passers-by.

I've done the shoot before in Tel-Aviv 15 years ago but have lost, given away or destroyed about 90% of the results over the years.

I'm not happy with the mirror (the one in the picture) so I'm waiting for the right one. I'm happy with the locations (I've tried them out with the mirror I don't like) and I'm very pleased with the step ladder. So nearly there.
I set the mirror cleanly down on the ground. Position myself with the camera on the step ladder such that the angle of the shot only reflects sky through the mirror. When a passerby encounters a mirror on the ground reflcting skyward their natural reaction is to look up towards the sky (even though they notice me on the ladder with a camera beforehand; they still always look up). Then fffttish! Captured.3314876720_cbbc6b2ba6.jpg

So the recent ones I've taken in Dublin involve this one, my friends mirror. I thought a round one would work as it would loolk like a manhole. Well that's exactly what it did. It stole from the shots the fact the there was an extra play at work. They were good snaps but the mirrors extra twist really annoyed me. Cameras are Bronica 120mm, Canon A1 and maybe Holga if there's bags of light.
Now I'm looking for the perfect mirror. Rectangular. As it was in Tel-Aviv.

I have two really, 1 is to shoot and become really known for shooting the big Punk Rock bands and 2 to shoot porn.

I'm on the verge of getting a photo pass for the biggest Punk rock festival in Blackpool this year so what females/couples want to help with my 2nd ambition?

I can answer in one word: Antartica.

A more realistic shoot I want to try is my girlfriend's Swarovski Tinkerbelle statuette shot with only candle-light. Just need time to set it up and shoot it. Unfortunately, time is not something I've a lot of at the moment.

    I'm fascinated by this thread.

I've obviously started with the abandoned boats.

One of the other things I want to do is photograph as many of the Atlantic lighthouses in France as I can. I don't even know why I want to do it because I have a phenomenal collection of pictures of them taken by other people.

But still...there doesn't have to be a why.

i really would love to do a biffy clyro gig, i know it may be a small dream but i really find the whole Simon Neil (the front man) who's covered in really intersting and diverse tattoos to be something i've really wanted to do for a long time.

pulling off shots like these would make me require fresh underwear:

also i'm in the market for a car, and was messing about on some dealers websites and one dealer - who i won't mention - that is selling cars worth in excess of 300,000 euro (probably narrows down who i'm talking about lol) has shots of their aston martins or their ferrari's taken with a off the shelf P&S which does nothing to sell the car. i'd love to go and offer my services, even though i've never photographed a car in my life unless it got into the frame inadvertingly, but i'm sure i could do a better job than some salesman that was asked to bring in his camera to put some pictures up online.

I'd love to have a go at Air to Air Photography, preferably something exotic like a restored WWII vintage bomber formation shot...but anything would do for a start! :D

Really high quality underwater shots of the wildlife in the coral reef. It is one of the most colourful places on this earth and with such vibrant colours in crystal clear water it just should be captured for all the world to see, my dream is to get a perfect shot of this. hopefully...

To be invited by Gwyneth Paltrow to spend few days with her to do a series of documentary pictures about her everyday life.

I read this as "Whats your dream shot?" so I responded with "a picture of my father's eyes" above. Since today is Mothers day, I went out to see my folks and decided "carpe diem".

I dont know if I "like" it but its the shot I was looking for I guess... I dont think I can really express what I think properly.

Mine is this surreal fairytale like story shoot.
Where there's this pretty girl in her exuberant world. A guy meets her, falls in love with her. But then this evil king captures her, guy fights off demons to get to her. He finds her caged in this place. He finally fights and kills the evil king and frees the girl. They live happily ever after again!!

The whole story portrayed through different scenes. I have very elaborate images of the scenes in my head and a few ideas on paper too. Just gotta someday put them to reality. Also gotta develop the skill to get the perfect lightning and color. A bit of Rene Magritte influence thrown in. But someday soon i'm gonna do it. Though i'ld like to gain a little bit of recognition before releasing the pics as so that i could showcase the whole lot somewhere as one piece of surreal artwork.
Along with a few more smaller photography art projects i'm planning to work on.

    Thats one.
Another one is to travel the world and shoot some really exotic natural wonders.
None of the pictures contain any humans or any man made objects to portray a perfect world without any humans.
As a another part of the same project is to shoot scenes of destruction of the planet by humans. Portraying how humans are basically destroying the planet slowly...
